Evosid mtb crankarm capture nut removal tool?
« on: September 12, 2024, 10:01:21 PM »
I hope I’m describing this correctly, on the Evosid (5DEV clone) crankarms, there’s a capture nut that looks very similar to the Shimano road pre-load tensioner nut (non-drive side) but it’s larger in size.  What tool fits his so i can remove it? I want to remove this to get to the Evosid 8mm allen bolt so I can replace it with a Sram bolt.

Hope this makes sense, TIA

I tried the Shimano direct mount tool as well as the Hollowtech II cap tool on this, none fit. May be its not supposed to be taken out. May I ask why do you want to replace the inner 8mm hex bolt with SRAM bolt?

Cuz the Evosid bolt is like butter,  stripped the 8mm hex already.  It’s same as SRAM regarding size and threads, not sure of head surface, think it’s flat, not domed like some of the newer SRAM.
