I have the velobuild r066 or whatever they called their endurance rim brake bike. I have 32c schwalbe ones and it clears fine. My frame is the non-internal routed frame but tire clearance should be the same on the newer one.

Interesting! How wide are your rims, and how wide do the tyres measure? What brake calipers do you use? Is it single pivot or dual pivot? You didn't have to shave off pad material?
For women, for example, who aren't hardcore riders (no rain, no shaving off seconds from sketchy braking at the last minute in hairpins...), rim brake bikes with big tyres are likely to be a superior choice (value, weight to rider weight ratio...). And even in pelotons going that 40+kmh, women who're able to survive in there aren't in front so doesn't matter if they have brake housing catching the wind.
Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

I was in the same position when choosing a Christmas present for my girlfriend. She definitely wanted rim brakes.

I ended up choosing the Velobuild 066, and she absolutely loves it. The frame quality is quite good, and I didn’t encounter any major issues during the build.

Sorry for the long delay in response.  I have a set of 26mm outer rims 21mm inner I think.  I have 32c schwalbe pro ones and they come out to just over 32mm.  I have the DA brake calipers and did not have to shave my pads at all.  The tires are about as big as I could get under the calipers.
