Need help understanding cranks and chainring interface

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for 165mm cranks for my TT bike. I've searched around and found a couple options from Senicx, Riro, Lexon etc and I'm just so confused by chainring mounting.

The Senicx cranks are direct mount, but I can see there are options for a spider mount adapter. Is this typical for a 2x set up?

I'm running 10sp 105 with a Vision Trimax crankset on BB30 bottom bracket. I've purchased adapter cups to take this down to 24mm. Unless there's a readily available BB30 crankset off AliExpress?

looks like that would work. the adaptor goes from the cannondale looking interface to 4 arm 110BCD of shimano, which is what passquest uses apparently.
A BB30 spindle would be lighter but for a TT bike you probably dont care, and the cranks you listed are pretty cheap. I think most BB30 options would cost quite a bit more.
Torque everything down well, with loctite, to avoid creaks and clicks and noises.
Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

I mean are you trying to save money, what is your goal? you can find 105 cranks and ultegra cranks at 165mm

also if you want to stick to the gxp mount style but 24mm, you can shop around on ali since other companies make them and half of the price of senicx. They all look very similiar to me anyway

If you go with those Senicx cranks, you need either SRAM direct mount chainrings or a SRAM direct mount 2x spider. Search that and there are lots of options. It is not a Cannondale Hollowgram interface as previously suggested.

Senicx uses the old 3-bolt SRAM standard.

The easiest to use will be a Senicx PR3 - this will be a direct swap for your existing Vision crankset (leave the 24mm adapter in).

You then need this Pass Quest 3-bolt chainring:

Thank you for all the input. Much appreciated.

My goal is to shorten the cranks to 165mm. Here in Australia there isn't much of a second hand market for cranks, and if there is its from people doing the exact same as me.

I had a look online and 105 cranks are about $250 aud. I was hoping to avoid paying that much and getting something from Ali.

One issue is I want to keep the 2x up front juuust in case I book really hard and can't turn my legs over.

Sorry - for some reason I had assumed you meant a 1x PQ chainring! That's what I get for not checking the link.

The Senicx crank and this spider is what you need:

(KEOS GXP to 110BCD4)

That will allow you to use the Senicx crank with the chainrings you linked.
