Hi all,
I'm interested in upgrading to this wheelset on my 11 speed Cruzbike Q45 which has an 11 speed cassette and a Microshift XLE 1x11 Trigger gear shifter.
https://tinyurl.com/3b6wft9kThe details of this wheelset indicate that it is only compatible with an XDR 12s. I assume that designation pertains to the cassette.
If I were to upgrade my cassette, it seems I would have to upgrade my gear shifter set due to the 11s and 12s difference. At least as far as I know, my Microshift shifter can't be made to be a 12s shifter.
And if I upgrade that stuff, I'm going with the LTwoo eGR which is a lot of money to spend in my opinion. I think in 2yrs, these kinds of products will be under $300. At least I hope so. I don't see much point in upgrading to a non-hydro/electric groupset even though I'm a bit allergic to the cost.
My questions are:
Is that wheelset in the SLR SRM XDR config really only compatible with a 12s cassette?
Is it possible to only upgrade to this 12s cassette in my shopping cart without upgrading the shifter/brakes and somehow use my Microshift 11s shifter on the new 12s cassette?
https://tinyurl.com/2kz2nz85I'd kiiiind of like to upgrade just my wheels although I may just end up upgrading everything despite the cost.
Shifting on cables has always been distateful to me even as a kid many decades ago. Even when I was around 11yrs old, I was annoyed about having some gears well dialed in but never able to have all of them perfectly dialed in due to the inherent nature of cable shifting.
Anyway, clarity on the above questions would be very helpful in this conundrum. Thanks for any replies!
