Carbonda CFR-1056 Frame Size Advice
« on: December 20, 2024, 11:16:10 AM »
Hiya,

Wondering if there's anyone out there similarly sized and with experience of Carbonda who can advise on my choice of frame size? I'm about 186cm in height, 88/89cm inseam and wavering between size L and XL of the CFR-1056. XL seems like it might be borderline too big, but I'm equally worried L might be a fit too small. Carbonda don't provide any guidance on fitting so I'm lost a bit in a sea numbers, any help much appreciated!

Thanks,
~Xander

Hi xandilly!

I ride the L (56cm) and I am 185cm. 34'' inseam. I find that there is a size missing between the L and the XL. The XL(58) looks more like a 60cm on paper and on the pictures.

Here is a picture of my bike.

Hi Johnny,

Sorry for late reply, but yes, agreed, it's a tricky sizing. Stack/reach is a bit too great for my tastes on the XL, so might stick with the L and see how it goes, we seem to have about the same build so should be fine... hopefully! You finding the bike fine otherwise? Any difficulties you had while assembling? Can I ask what headset you're sporting also? Is it the stock sample provided by Carbonda, or an aftermarket? Looks great by the way!

Thanks again,
~Xander

Im 175cm in height with a pretty regular build (31" inseam, slightly long arms) and the TT/reach is about what I'd be looking at. My current bike has the same reach pretty much and I'm running a 130cm stem.

What bike/size are you currently riding and is it a good fit? I'd compare the two. IMO the CFR-1056 is "aggressively" endurance and the slack STA will make nailing fit a little tricky.

It's a great frame. One downside I found is the paint is fragile but I almost cover the whole bike with 3M Clear Scotchgard.  Everything went good for the assembly.

The headset is the FSA NO. 55R 1.5"/558. I read in this forum that Carbonda's headset is pretty cheaply made so I didn't want it.

Everything went good for the 2 years I've been riding it. I'm now building another bike and I will be selling it soon.
