What do you think of this frame?

Anyone had past experience with Hongfu?

They also have a really nice Endurace frame:

The 750g frame seems tempting, I am not sure about the aero properties of it though.

T47 and 750g sounds crazy. If they do use a certain amount of T1100 it won't be as cheap.

For the aero aspect, it's not a Cervelo S5 or Colnago Y1R, but if you live around hills or mountains, I doubt it'll cost u too many watts

Coincidentally I've been speaking with the folks from Avenger (Hongfu) for the past 3 months.

They mentioned they were developing a new frame, as their current designs at the time were just 4-5 year old rebadged Hongfu frames. I'm interested in this new design. But the geometry is different than what Avenger showed me two months ago. More endurance orientated.

Maybe they're coming out with two different frames for 2025 and this is the first.

My experience is over a decade old, but they were good then. One of the more reputable open mold sellers. Back then, I think they were working with Flybike. No idea on what they are up to now.

This frame looks ok, but the pricing is pretty crazy and the reach numbers short. For this aesthetic, I still like the Speeder SC-R55D despite its pressfit BB.

Maybe they were talking about the R8?

I would love to order this one. But at 1799 USD it's to expensive for me (but might be worth it, if it reliable). I think Hongfu is respectable, and 750gr is really nice.

Think I'll have to go for the SL8 TanTan ripoff (no stickers of course) to go sub7 on a budget (11sp di2, wheels of 1235gr).

This thing's price gets you some pretty serious used hardware. TCL SLs, Ultimate CF SLXs etc. With actual resale and some semblance of warranty support.

Do wish they are monitoring this web forum. Frame looks nice but no way I would pay more than $800 for it...

I agree on pricing. If you’re patient, you can get pretty sweet framesets with warranty and resale value for that kind of money. Bike24 currently sell Supersix EVO Hi Mod framesets and BMC Roadmachine framesets for less than that. They’re both not for me geometry wise. But it shows what kind of competition these run against at that price point. I’ve seen Giant TCR and Propel frames go for around 1500-1800EUR there as well. And if something’s wrong I could literally walk into their store as it’s close to me. No way I’d take that kind of leap of faith on an unproven Chiner frame. Warranty or not.
I do rate Hongfu however. I bought accessories like seatposts and handlebars directly from them quite a few years back. Nothing but solid.

Even 6 months or 1 year old Winspace, Seka and Pardus has limited resale values at less than 1/3 the original prices. I've no doubt that its a decent frame but if I'm paying that kind of money, it better be really good with residue values.

Im gonna sell my first China build this spring (Denfgu FM208). Depending on how abysmal the resale is, my current China build might be my last (Tantan FM639). I think Chinese wheels retain decent value and are generally well priced. But any frame with a four digit retail price is very tough to rationalize. I think the market for those is in Asia moreso than the west.
