What Frame is this???
« on: May 22, 2016, 01:29:44 PM »
I've been searching frames and options to get my father on a 27.5+ and all the Main Brand stuff is really more than he wants to spend.  I came across this LaMere Cycles site, which is a guy in Minneapolis sticking a brand on China Frames.  He has put together a 27.5+ and 29+, that look pretty good, but I'm having a hard time figuring out which frame it actually is.

It looks a lot like a CS-036, but it's a BOOST rear triangle and slightly different geometry.

Here's the link, hopefully I can get some help figuring out what this frame is.

I believe there frames are somewhat unique. The have a HT plus frame that is quite similar to ICAN's frame. Frame geo is slightly different if i remember correctly.

I would say the opposite.  The same frames Lamere sells can usually be found at one of the other Chinese vendors like XMcarbonspeed, Hong-Fu, Deng-Fu, Light-bicycle, or Workswell.

That's what I expected, but I can't find it anywhere, especially with a Boost rear triangle.  It looks like a fat version of of the 036, but with a fat or boost rear triangle.

Now that is an interesting find, looks like the first 29+ fully. I would be interested as well. It's not on alibaba, though.

So far I haven't been able to find it.  My current plan if my father is interested in a build is to go with a CS-001 frame, but build with a 27.5 + rear wheel/tire and 27.5+ front fork and tire.

We are in sunny San Diego, so no need for a full fat, but the Plus is pretty nice.

Now to see if Peter can just build a CS-001 with a Boost rear triangle instead of 177...

325 Racer,

Just checked out the Lamere 29+ full suspension bike, and it looks like the rear end is 177, not Boost 148. Maybe you saw that already.

I haven't seen a full suspension 29+ bike besides the Lamere and the Lenz (Behemoth or Fatillac, can't remember which). If you find a chinese full suspension frame with Boost 148 that will allow a 29+, please let us know.

Either way, let us know what you build up for your dad.

Not sure what route we will go, he's been demoing a bunch of bikes locally.  He tested an Intense Spider 27.5, a Commercial 27.5 short travel (120mm) (they are a French direct to consumer brand with US headquarters about 10 min from my house), a Haro 27.5 (also local) and this weekend has anot Ellsworth Epiphany plus, again local!!!

So we'll see what kind of bike he's liking and decide from ther.e
