I am looking at building a new hill climb bike cause I have a wild hair somewhere and I am trying to find a Aethos like frame set.  I know the Elves vynar (?) is out there.  I also see that light carbon have a 850g rim brake frame.  are there any others out there in the sub 800g range?

lightcarbon have a new line of rims that use graphine.  they are very light and have a great rider weight rating.  310g for a 32mm outside rim.  120kg weight limit.  I have not used them yet but just placed my order.  Also very affordable.

I have my frame and a in the process of building it up.   Where are you guys getting spacers for the rear shock?  I have 9mm on either side of the lower shock and I am not able to source anything.  Should I just make my own?

having ridden lefty fork for along time, there is no equal as far as feel and rigidity.  the cost and lack of serviceability is the reason I no longer ride one.  the Ocho is nice in that it should fit any tapered head tube frame.  they go in just like any other fork.  the older dual crown forks were wonky and gross to fit to frames.  i am in the US and they pop up on facebook and ebay now and then.  probably the best way to get one.  other option is see if the cannondale Dr has one on their website and will ship it to you.

Got this ordered up along with the new 914 hard tail.  Finally getting my own frame instead of building bikes for friends.   a little trick to build your N+1 collection is 2 frames will fit in one box.  so shipping is less per frame then.

Has anyone gone with the superlight frame version?  very curious what that one comes in at in real life.

I had no hiccups in building mine up.  i did have the issue where the lower shock pin was slightly undersized resulting in slight play in the suspension.  i fixed this by making my own pin out of alloy tubing.  shaved some weight and made it a much tighter fit.  Very happy over all with this build.

I just placed an order for it.  They said the details will be up on the website soon.  Pretty standard geo with 69 degree HA, 27.2 seatpost, has flat mount rear brake mount but they supply a post mount adapter.  It has the knock block style headset of course and press fit BB. Size large frame is listed as 1200g.

This looks awesome from the video.  I was just trying to decide which frame to go with but now that there is a new one it makes it kind of easier.  Hope they get the geo and weight details up soon.   That new headset design will make a very sleek single speed build.

Looks great man. How do you compare the ride between the two?

The 947 is very much an enduro frame.  I live in a flat state so only had it out a few times to one of 2 lift served parks in the state. It soaked up everything I threw at it with ease.  Very impressed with how well it did. Hoping to get it out west and take it on some serious downhill.  We don't have anything that is long enough to push suspension or brakes.  The 958 has really shocked me. Rides and handles like a 100-110mm bike bit of things get rowdy I have the extra travel there.  I think the 34mm chassis fork makes a big difference.  My normal XC bike is a 100mm with 32mm stanchions and the extra stiffness is noticed right away.   They are definitely two different tools for 2 different jobs.  But very happy with both.

I was a big DengFu fan and then ordered a 947 from LC as DF didn't have what I wanted. I have now ordered a 958, 2 918's and one of their gravel frames for friends and myself.  I have been very impressed with their customer service on a bunch of little things like random questions and a few frame issues.  Everything was worked out quickly and to my satisfaction.

Her is my 958 and 947

Just got the second one in and will be building it up shortly. I will try and get some pics posted soon.  Looks of the frame are great and build quality seems just as great as the other light carbon frames I have.  This is a buddies frame so may not have all the pics right away.

that looks amazing.  I have one LC frame with a second on order.  once i complete my mountain bike fleet, this is the first frame on order.  Cant believe those are 50mm tires in there.  so much room!

I reached out to light carbon on this before I made my own fix and was very politely told that it was with in spec.   If anyone else gets the same response and want to go down the path I took let me know.  I have extra bar stock and can make you one.  Just PM me.
