Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Are there any Ali mtb cranks you'd recommend?

Raceworks makes some mtb cranks with steel 24mm axle. I have been running them for a few years now with no issues.  Also they make a few road cranksets.  TraceVelo had the CVR one that I see listed by a few vendors.

Re: LightCarbon 918? My biggest issue is the -10 degree air temps and 2 ft of snow outside.  i like to build over the winter and then in the spring i can get back outside.   also, it has been tricky getting parts at a good price.  Finally have all the items i need, now just need to find time to build it up.

Re: IIIPRO E4 4-Piston Hydraulic MTB Brakes - Are they to be trusted? So i have the ZRACE version of the 2 piston ones, Same design with different logo, and i like them so far.  i have not pushed them super hard but they have been great for XC riding in the midwest.

Re: Fake eeBrakes G4 here is the box and even an Cane creek user manual.  if these are fake, they need to start charing more.  paid under $150 incl. shiping to the US for the pair.

Re: Any Sensah Empire/SRX 12 speed users on here? I can report back that Sensah and the zrace cassette have been playing well together for about 500 miles or so.  All of it is trainer miles but it runs extremely quite and shift very well.

DIdn't see any conversation regarding Chinese tires. Has anyone tried these?

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804706173465.html

I sent message to two sellers asking if the 40c version was tubeless - one of them said no and other said yes. I am leaning towards no, since it doesn't mention them being tubeless anywhere in the listing but then many times those listings do have factual errors. Regardless, how bad can these be?

Everyone riding maxxis tires has been testing out Chinese tires for you.  hahaha.  but for real, as long as they are not imitations of something you should be good.  i have used Arisun and Innova and both have been great for the money.  Another one to look at is the American Classic tires.  those are pretty decent and are easy to get from Amazon.

Re: Fake eeBrakes G4 I had read that one of the biggest complaints on these was the pad fixing bolt.  i have replaced them with some titanium pad bolts that actually fit in the groove perfectly.  Also swapped out the cable clamp bolt to a titanium one.  i like the looks of the black better and it saves about 4 gr. per brake.

Velobuild VB-R-066 Rim brake (not dead yet?) With the dawn of electronic group sets taking over, the curmudgeon in me wanted to add an analog road bike to the stable.  i was surfing the web and came across some close out deals on the last great Dura Ace group set, the 9100.  i figured i better snap them up while i could before they become collectable antiques, hahaha.  next was finding a bike frame that i could have a rim brake version and disc version which is identical or very similar geometry.  the 066 is nice in the fact that it offers both rim and disc version.  here is the build list with pics and weights.
