Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I have the BSC300 from IGPSport, which I think is the next down the lineup (bit further down in features, though), so I can maybe help with some of these doubts.

Routes must be sent/synced from the IGPSport app, you can either create the route in app (like said, from A to B) or sync from 3rd party. From what I checked you can connect with Strava and Komoot for routes, unfortunately no RidewithGPS (at least currently). In the app you need to select which routes you want to sync, so it's manually synced not automatically.
It's also possible to import route files, so you can get a .gpx or some route file and import in app and then sync it to the unit, that's the workaround I've done to get routes from RideWithGPS, a bit more work but not much anyway.

Battery it's important to point out that the time advertised is normally a bit inflated, and also is 'pure gps use', like with no external sensors. So as soon as you add HR, speed, powermeter... the battery is drained faster.
My BSC300 is getting 10h+ with all the sensors, and the advertised is 20h, so I think for the IGS630 will still get a good battery life even with sensors.

Training at least in the BSC300 works really well, you can create the training session directly in the app (then sync it), and make the interval about HR or Power Zones, time-based or leave it open and pass it by pressing the lap button. There's a lot of options, honestly, I've been doing my indoor training directly in the unit linked with the smart trainer and it works like a charm.
It's also possible to sync with TrainingPeaks and import the training sessions.

About the BT connection and sync speed from app to unit, so far had no issues with it, if anything it impressed me how fast it is to sync activities, it's a major stepup from the other chinese brands I've tested, and faster than Bryton420 which I had before the BSC300

Do you mean the courses do not automatically get sent from komoot/strava/ridewithGPS etc?
Can you load power-based training programs?

I previously had a simple computer with speed/cadence/heart rate. I haven't tried the training programs, but you can upload them from the app to the unit. There's a brief pop-up screen, but it doesn't really bother me, because I always check if my sensors are synced (in case of dead battery) and I have to select the bike I'm using since I always rotate them.
All data downloading/uploading is done via bluetooth. Connection is stable as well. A 2 hour ride only sucks about 2-4% of battery life.

Doesn't seem to have Komoot integration. Right ?
Did you try it off-road, how's the quality of available tracks ? Karoo has them all in general.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I'll try to reply to each in separate, maybe can help you better

1.  My biggest complaint is that the unit's GPS stops recording at 2mph.    (Others have stated that other brands do the same thing, so who knows if this is just me going to slow.)  I have spent a lot of time walking my fully loaded bike packer up 20% and greater climbs.  It is frustrating because the iGS630 stops recording the climb and auto-pauses.)
In the app you can change the minimum speed for auto-pause, and even turn-off auto-pause.
This maybe is the best for your case, since you mention walking with the bike. Best to set it off then you can be sure that it won't pause even if you stand still

3.  iGS630 always seems to have a different elevation gain and mileage than Strava on my Cell phone.  (On a 50 mile ride, iGS630 will be different my 2 miles and elevation will often be 100s of feet less climbing.   (I need to look into how to calibrate my current altitude. Maybe this is why.)
this is common for most GPS units - head units, watches, or apps. Each one use different maps, or sensors, that are prone to have interference and measure wrongly
you can always correct the elevation later in Strava, you go into the options of the activity and have there the button to 'correct elevation' according to Strava maps, the system will review your activity path and have the correct elevation. You can go back to the original one if you prefer, in the same options

4  There are almost too many buttons on the unit and too many different screens and functions.    I wanted to be able to quickly use it out of the box, and really need to re-read and remember what buttons and screens do what.
the 'too many different screens and functions' is something that will happen with most units, any brand, especially at this price point where the units have many functions
you can always set the screens how you like, through the app, leave only the essential information that you want to see, leave 1 page only if you prefer.. your can customize as you want

6.  I am still trying to figure out how to upload a GPX file to the App, then to the 630.
you need to have the GPX file in your phone, then add in the app, then sync with the unit. Here's a video:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Edit: Has anyone used this - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804913368665.html
Or am I better off with old school wear indicators?
I have a similar one from another brand, Toopre, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it's all same manufacturer just different brand logo on it. Ztto has it too, other brands also around Ali.
Mine works well, but seems the only advantage is being able to check when it's 'beginning' to wear (between 0 and 0.5), which is not a big difference
since replacing is with 0.5 or 0.75 wear, the old school indicator will do just fine.

Yeah, deals are not really widespread... It seems that every sale there are less sellers participating...
same here, I was looking into radars (Bryton R300 and Magene L508) but neither are in good deals, and most of the stores are not offering them within the sale discount.
I have the same impression, less sellers/products getting in the sale, and also the discount used to be bigger, and for higher amounts. Like, at least for Brazil, it's up to 12 usd off $90, but last year for example I have bought stuff with 24 off $240, even higher on previous years. Discount for expensive stuff, not only the cheap items

Maybe there are too many sales happening, it's like every 2-3 months there's some sale going on, so this is probably a small one and the big stuff will come only in 11.11 which is the biggest sale of the year

Order now or wait? Is there a good discount on it... or will it become even cheaper during the campaign week? does anyone have any experience?  :o
it actually doesn't follow a pattern. Sometimes the coupons only work in the beginning because they're limited, but there are cases in which closer to the end more coupons were released (or renewed).

In my opinion, if the price seems good then go for it. There's always the chance of a better price in future sales, like the 11.11 I mentioned above, but u'll have to wait 2.5 months.

one thing you can try is offline payment, it works as some kind of 'order reservation', but I think it depends on the country and payment too so you have to see if it's available for you
like, here in Brazil, I can place the order as payment by wire transfer, and I have 72h to make the payment or the order is cancelled. Through that time, the order is there waiting, and I can pay by credit card if I prefer, change the payment mode at will
Also, and this is maybe the best, I can choose the pay the whole order or just from specific stores.
So it offers not only some extra time to think about the order, but also if you want all items

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Any experience buying shimano spd-sl pedals from Ali? I’m thinking about buying this Ultegra level pedals and the reviews seem promising. Locally they’re about $220 usd so this would be quite the bargain.

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPiuLsK
I've got the Ultegra from the same store, but this link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005173524508.html
Been ~1.500km by now and all is good, not any issue with it, but it's too soon. The finishing is rough so that got me concerned, I've seen plenty of 'fake vs original' videos for these pedals but honestly couldn't come to a conclusion, all seemed ok but it's really the finishing and little details that have something off about it, but it could be just a different Shimano factory, for example

in the end, what I can say by now, is that they're working well. Since here in Brazil I can only get Ultegras (original from distributor) by 4-5x the price, I figured it was worth the gamble.

My previous pedals were R550 which were bought from local store but, at the price I've paid, for sure it was just reselling from Aliexpress. And those I'm pretty sure were just really good counterfeits, at 25.000km they were done (the axis and ball bearing started to present issues I couldn't solve)
Still, it was a good run for the price I've paid at the time, so not really mad about it

but, depending where you are, better to just go with Merlin's option like our friend above shared, at least it's guaranteed it's original

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
Can anyone recommend any cheap wheels? I would go with the Hygge wheels but am just not sure on the quality for that price point?
I'd go with Elite or Superteam, seems to be the cheapest ones on Aliexpress at least. I have some Superteams going strong for 2 wheels, minor problems with weather sealing but all good with periodic maintenance

Aliexpress just finished a sale, end of august, so it's common that the prices rise a little... maybe in 2-3 weeks (tops) the prices drop a bit, you can message the sellers and ask if there are sales coming or any coupons available, there are some that are willing to negotiate some deals
be aware that in 2 months it's 11.11 which is the biggest sale, so it's also common that the stores hold discounts a bit on the previous months.. if you're able to wait until then, it's almost certain you'll get a better deal

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
Any good winter clothes? Looking specifically for a jacket or cycling fleece
I have a winter bib from Ykywbike, long legs, fleeced up to the torso, used in some cold rides (down to 1ºC) and kept me warm but also not to the point of sweating too much
other than that no other winter clothing, but base layer and jersey/bibs I really like their products.
they have some new jacket out which seems good from the photos, I have some of their more expensive stuff and it's really top quality, the vendor has nice communication too, and that's what keeps me coming back to buy with them

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
Can you give a hint on the sizing?
I'm 1.73/63kg, skinny arms but 'normal' legs, for Ykywbike I normally go with S for jerseys/jackets, and M for bibs, always a good fit

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! this is kind of the "warehouse ready" items from Aliexpress, stores/vendors send their items there and then it's ready to ship fast
also selling prices well below their own stores because it seems to potentialize the sales volume, it must be some negotiation with Aliexpress that to be on that store they need to lower the price at least X%

it has pretty much all categories of items, and the products that appear for each people is different (cookies and all), that's why the other users cannot find it

it's easier to start from Aliexpress home screen and enter the 'Choice', 'SuperDeals' or the 'First come 50% off'. It's normally mostly from this 'Manufacturer direct store' or something, but usually good deals there

This seller has a lot of cycling items for much cheaper than the official stores. I already bought a darevie jersey there for $15 ($23 on official darevie store) and was very happy with it, no catch as far as I could tell
They have things like TPU tubes, Ipro rotors, TOWILD lamps, etc. Also darevie bibs for $16 (official store 32ish?) but the pictures show a grey bib instead of purple. Not sure if they are old collections or something

Re: Elves Eglath Pro Build
Eglath doesn’t get the love because ELVES (imo) has been pushing the FALATH EVO,  and now the brand new VANYAR .., they're taking up all the “air in the room”.
yeah, it has to do with current marketing focus (their recent launches) and how Elves came to be more known over the last year (which has a lot to do with the Falath Evo).
Because the brand itself is already known in China and southeast Asia for years, it's just that the western world (and Australia) got to know it recently

anyway, great looking bike! really beautiful frame, the paintjob is nice, and the build itself is well put together. Glad to hear it rides nice :)
now, any particular reason to keep the 'pillar' adhesives on the spokes?

the thing i like most about elves is how the name of their frames is like they've put a bunch of letters in a blender and set it to max.
it's actually just names of Elven people from Tolkien's lore. Vanyar, Eglath and Falath(rim) which the brand decided to exclude the last letters
as someone who is a fan of Tolkien, this brand caught my attention years ago while browsing through Aliexpress ;D

Re: Chinese cycling clothes this is popping in a number of topics these days, lots of products increasing in price by absurd amounts\
it's just common practice all over Aliexpress to prepare for the 11.11 sale. Products on Aliexpress are always with some amount of discount, it's always like 30% off over some 'stock' price which is never really practiced, or like 10 days a year tops.
soon it should be back to normal...

also another user pointed out that China is currently in Holidays, back next weekend, and the increase could be to discourage buyers, reduce order amount for a moment, and let them rest these days.
But honestly I don't think it's that, in my experience normally with long Holidays the website or the seller just extends the shipping time, covering their absence. Through chinese new year for example (february) the website normally advises that shipping will take 1-2 extra weeks due to holidays.

:o the Darevie bibs increased the prize ... its now more than double now, for € is 74... is this only for my account the case?
Also the jersey got much much much more expensive ?!
Even though I like them .. but that's not possible...I won't buy them again.
