I've got nothing against Light Bikes but if you are ordering a frame and other parts as well, might as well save some shipping/paypal fees and get everything from one Chendor :).  <--- Like that SN, I got to use your word, "Chendor".

That said, Hope Pro are fine hubs, I just like the DT Swiss stuff more as they are very nicely engineered.

Not sure why you are stuck on Light Bikes suppling the wheels, XMIplay can build them for you.  If they do not have the hubs, buy them separately and send the hubs to them.  You asked for some input so that would be my advice, my next set of wheels will have DT Swiss hubs and 30mm Carbon Hookless rims.  Otherwise buy the hubs and rims yourself and have a LBS build the wheels for you.

I'm looking to build a IP-057 and need some help.  This is my first full build and I need some advise on what parts to add.

Ip-057

Question on what to get:
Headset - use XMI or Cane Creek?
Fork - not sure what size 1-1/8?
               - recommendations?

XX1 - Group Set

Wheels - Light Bicycle all mountain
          - Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 - spokes
          - 28h or 32h - which one?
          - Hub which one to match - Are these the right ones?
                        - Do you need an adaptor?
Hope Pro 2 hub Front
Hope Pro 2 hub Rear

Headset - XMIplay Neco headset works fine.
Fork - 100mm, Tapered Steer Tube 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" Reba or Fox CTD
XX1 Group - Check :)
Wheels - XMIplay 30MM width or 35mm width if you want something stronger but a bit heavier, 28 hole, Sapim spokes
Hubs - DT Swiss 350 Straight Pull, 6-bolt disc, FR/RR

29er / Re: Should I get the 057 or 256??

See how you like the IP-057 frame and in six months when the IP-256 becomes more available, order one of those, move your components over, and sell your IP-057.  I'm sure it won't be difficult to sell.

The IP/FM 056/057 are available in BSA or BB30 bottom bracket options, they type of bottom bracket does not determine the frame model number.  One of the nice things about the Chiner frames are the available options like BB style, carbon type (UD, 3K, 12K), and paint finish (matte, gloss, or painted a color).  You should know which BB your frame will have based on your order so you can match your cranks to the frame.

120mm is the longest travel fork I'd suggest for the IP-057, it's really designed to be XC bike.  I've seen anywhere from 80mm-120mm forks used with this frame and nobody is complaining about issues with the geometry within that range of fork travel.

There are several states not offering any rebates, and others offering more than GA.  The Nissan dealer does not need to advertise, the cars are flying out of the showroom.  Thing is, in 2 years, there will be tons of Nissan Leafs coming in on trade, so I wonder if the used price will drop since there will be so many used ones at the dealerships.

New update.  Another guy at work is leasing a base model Nissan Leaf "S" for $225, 24months, 12,000 miles, no money due at signing.

That's $5,400 in lease payments and GA has a dollar for dollar tax rebate of $5,000.  That means he will be able to drive the Nissan Leaf for $400 + insurance (about $60/month).  Thats a total of about $77/month to drive a new electric car.

Compare that to me paying $160/mo just in gas to drive my current 12 year old car to work and back, not including the cost of tires, brakes, and oil changes.

This is an insane deal.  I'd go lease one but I don't need another vehicle in my garage or blocking my driveway :(.

I explained to Peter what I wanted and he sent me a picture that I approved.  Not too difficult.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Best Dropper Post?

I've read/heard good things about the Rockshox Reverb.  I've only ridden a few bikes with dropper posts, not really my thing.  For the XC/Trail type of riding I do, I just don't see the need for it on my bike.

The change from full open to Trail is moderate, the rear shock tightens up a bit and there is much less movement from pedaling.  I'm not able to explain it any more than that, you will need to ride a bike with a CTD rear shock to see it for yourself.  I think it works pretty well.

Some things seem like good ideas on paper but are worthless in practice.

Trail mode on the Fox shock is great, it has a moderate amount of compliance but you can feel how much less movement you get when pedaling compared to the Decsent mode.  Of great interest to you, Rigid, is the non-remote Fox CTD shock also has additional settings for the trail mode allowing you to tune that mode even further.  That works for people like you who like to set it and forget it.

The remotes are nice but not necessary, many $8,000 FS carbon bikes don't have remote lockouts.  For me it's just something that I liked when I rode the Scott Spark so I decided to put it on my IP-036.

I don't think there is any blue color on the Scott Twin-Loc lever bolt, just a reflection possibly.

The letters on the Fox lever are "C-T-D" which stands for Climb-Trail-Descend.  It's their three position suspension they've had for a few years now.  The Trail mode is really good in that there is very shock movement from pedaling but the suspension is fairly active in response to the terrain.  The nice thing about either the Fox or the Scott levers is you are able to select the Trail mode when the lever is moved in either direction, when coming out of D-mode or when coming out of C-mode.  Something my shorty lever does not do, when coming out C-mode, the black button release the lever fully to D-mode, no option to catch T-mode on the release.

The next innovation is already here, it's electronic control, either automatic or wireless control from the bar.  Rockshox and Fox are already showing maybe even selling their e-suspension options.
