Re: Electronic devices
They apparently can't fix the lost sensor issue.
It must be a harder problem than it looks like, as they had quite a few updates since then.
Having to re-enable my power meter while riding  in a peloton after a pause, is terribly annoying and dangerous.
Except that problem, everything is fine, but it annoys me enough that I will probably switch back to wahoo at their next iteration.

For the battery life, if I plan a ride longer than 7h, I attach a 18650 based powerbank to the handlebar, for a few hours more.

Is the sensor loss universal, or just some units, or some sensors?

I still feel like all of the options are crap.  Garmin 'just works' but maps, navigation and rerouting are all crap, and UX is prehistoric.  Wahoo Bolt V2 is laggy, they still haven't fixed their underreporting of power and work done (kJ) on anything other than Favero on any of their products & deny the issue exists, battery drain is insane when stopped or GPS is lost, no sleep mode or screen sleep mode, screen visibility worst in class. Karoo 2 - bad battery life and bugs galore - including by the sound of it a game breaking one with sensor loss.

Re: Electronic devices
It looses the powermeters on all my bikes, a p2m-road, sigeyi-mtb and quarq-gravel.
But it doesn't loose my heart rate either magene or a whoop.
Shifting sensors stay as well.

They made an update recently, limiting Ant+ sensors to 15, but that didn't help at all.
They told me on their support to change the priority of sensors depending the bike I ride   ??? That didn't help either.
What is stupid, is when you get to the sensor page, it finds it back instantly.
Would it be possible a smart ass there would call the same function when re-starting a ride ?

I agree with you, all these devices look prehistoric, even the Karoo, compared to other apps we use daily.

But just to be clear, except this powermeter loss. If I train myself, I could think of passing by the sensor page before restarting the ride...
As well as the shortish 7h battery life(last longer if you turn your screen off when not riding).
I'm quite happy with it.

Thanks.

That doesn't augur well at all IMO.

Probably means the person who wrote the call(s) that works has left, the code isn't adequately commented, and nobody there tasked with fixing it knows wtf to do. Or management has its head so far up its ass that they don't consider this a priority fix, so they have the person who knows how to make sensors work doing something else.

I notice that the when on my road bike with a Stages gen 3 PM the connectivity stays strong with the K2. On my gravel bike that has a Stages gen 2 PM though the connection gets interrupted very frequently when pausing and sometimes mid spin. Connectivity with a di2 Ant+ only dongle seems good. I notice that notifications from my phone also aren't consistent and the device often needs to be connected again. Battery life isn't great. Putting into battery saving mode helps but still behind the Wahoo devices. Aside from this happy with the nav and UI and functionality.

Thanks also.

Looks like it won't be viable for me then.  Not prepared to fuck around with dropouts.

Have to stick to Garmin when I want accurate power and don't need routing, and Wahoo when I need routing.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
I have a couple of road races coming up with significant amounts of gravel sections, so I have been trying to maximize the tire space in the frame. The split for one race is around 15% tame gravel/85% asphalt and 45% tame gravel / 55% asphalt for the other.
I have been looking for high volume road tyres with lower rolling resistance compared to gravel tires.

I currently have Vittoria Terreno Zero's in 32c and they are very puncture resistant but noticeably slower than a road tire (as it probably should be). Very good if there is a high risk of punctures or a need for more grip.

Schwalbe have a 34c model of their Pro One Evo TLE which I picked up. I mounted them on Light Bicycle WR45's which are 25mm internal (hooked). They measure 33,5mm.

Surprisingly there is still a bit of space. Obviously they are narrower than advertised but it probably also has to do with the lack of knobs and that the wide rim gives the tire a lower profile.
I would say if you have wide rims the bike could probably handle a 35mm WAM slick tire if you can live with minimal mud clearance. Anyone wanna sponser me some Rene Herse Bon Jon Pass  ;D ?

Try Challenge Strada Bianca or Panaracer Gravelking Slicks

Re: L-TWOO RX 2x12 road groupset I'm sure that Chinese wireless electronic drivetrains will quickly be nearly as good Shimano & SRAM at a fraction of the price.  The problem I see is road disc ... There's no evidence they're anywhere close.  They'd be wise to concentrate on decent lever feel and reservoir, and make them work with Shimano or SRAM or magura calipers. Not an issue with Road Rim or MTB though.

If they were smart they'd get JuinTech or TRP to design the disc side of things. But I doubt it'll happen.

Re: Workswell WCB-R-366 / 358 Also their newly listed WCB-R-369 looks pretty interesting.  Aero and 32mm clearance.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build
That is my new fake S-works   :D

First problems:
1. The seat dries automatically...
2. The handlebars are too soft for my 95kg... a lot of movement when I drive uphill
3. When I breaking only on front break I see that front forks bends back... idk maybe it is normal for carbon frame?

3) if flex is visible something is seriously wrong.  Either your headset is loose or the fork is about to fail catastrophically, or both.  Please get it looked at by a good mechanic.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build I've been told that the cost to open a mould for a zero setback seatpost for the 099 is $500 (assume the same for 168).  They don't want to front it.

Any interest from owners or potential buyers? I'd put $50 down.  Only 9 others needed to cover cost of mould.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build
Hi guys. I am new on this forum and really enjoy it.  Recieved my R-099's last month. Building up a size 52 for my girl right now. Really happy with the size 54 I am riding. I am definetly willing to pay $50 for the zero offset mould.

Up to $350 potentially then.

Re: Integrated Handlebar Those carbon stems look almost identical to the OG Evkin ones, but with a different front plate.  Also appear to be heavier.

The carbon bar .... why super short reach if you're going to give it conventional 125drop in all sizes.  Makes no sense.  Also it's very heavy.

Alu stems and bottle cages nothing special.  None of the stems are integrated.

Re: Lexon GFX Carbon Gravel Bike Frame Build
I think that’s the right fork but you need a different sized bearing. Whether you want to use that fork is up to you. I doubt you’ll get a refund unless there is visible damage to the fork.

It has many small cracks, fissures, poor joins, creases, bad scoring from what looks like a power sander being used, and that messy hole for the cables.  I'd call that damage.

Also I pinged Gavin at TopCarbon with this thread.  He said he'd look into it.  Hopefully they take it seriously.
