Re: All round racer
I would consider the new LCR-017 from Lightcarbon.

https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4309.0.html

The geometry of 017 is nowhere close to what OP is looking for

Re: All round racer
he is looking for an "allround bike"... or did you do a bike fitting with him? ;-)

Both Colnago and the Look bikes the OP showed as example have far less aggressive geometry than 017. That frame in general would be unrideable for people under 175cm or so because of its insane 390mm reach even with the lowest eize. Size 51 (equal to average M size frame) has shorter reach than 017 frame in size 49, which is equivalent to size XS  :)  :)

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
Without commenting on the YouTubers, I think the best-value frame that has evidence of aero testing in development is probably the Elilee Blize (~$1700 shipped USD including bar).

Wheels, probably Hunt’s aerodynamicist line or the Zipp 303S? I cant think of a Chinese offering that has been developed in that manner.

Bars, EXS?

Elilee looks as aerodynamic as cow on ice. It looks like V4RS, Trek Emonda and other lightweight race bikes, but aero it's not. You're billion times better off with Winspace T1500, even if it costs bit more

Re: Why are road bikes more popular than mountain biking? It's actually other way around where I live - MTBs are far more popular than road bikes, even among people who ride in the city

Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
If you wont miss the extra $2K, getting the SL8 is probably worth it. Easier access to spares, easier shop service if you need it. Proven performance etc. and you will get some of that back on resale if you swap bikes every couple of years.

Regarding your concerns around fitting other bars and stems. This bike uses a 1 1/2” upper bearing, so you should be able to swap it out for headsets from Deda and FSA and use systems compatible with their designs. You will lose the shaped transition spacer. Integrated bars tend to come with fit kits including their own spacers. Higher end Chinese ones like the BigRock Skyline II even include their own C ring.

RE: 3D printing. Some people release their 3d printed designs on sites like printables. I personally do not, as I don’t want to offer support for the design or deal with people printing the designs in materials that they aren’t designed for and then telling me the design doesn’t work.

I think getting SL7 is better choice than SL8 - it should be cheaper, no major difference between the frames and most importantly SL7 doesn't have the Buttsniffer™

Re: Patty's Long Rant and Guide To Affordable Frames
Wiggle/Chain Reaction is (or was) awesome. I'd buy all my nutrition and handlebars from them. I was able to snag a spare set of Prime carbon aero handlebars from them for $100 right before they stopped shipping to the USA.

The good news is you can still find the alloy version of those bars rebranded as "Control Tech" on Amazon. A few bucks more expensive than the Prime branded version, but the ergonomics are the best in my collection of bars.

Alternatively I also have a pair of these FSA Vision TriMax Aero alloy bars. 380mm at the hoods and 400mm in the drops. They also provide a lot reach (90mm) which I love, and they are lighter than the Prime alloy bars. Mostly they offer full internal cable routing like the Prime bars.

ControlTech is the actual OEM for Wiggle handlebars IIRC

Re: Patty's Long Rant and Guide To Affordable Frames To add something to discussion about value perspective: Winspace Agile frameset would cost roughly 2000€ to get shipped to me. Meanwhile, Giant TCR Advanced 2 costs 2800€ with full mechanical 105 groupset. Building Agile to the same spec would cost way more, considering 105 groupset alone is 550€. I guess Agile does provide better value if you are building top spec bike vs upgrading the TCR

Re: Patty's Long Rant and Guide To Affordable Frames Bit more food for thoughts regarding value - how does Winspace compare against in-house brands like Radon? Just saw one of their offerings with a 12 speed Ultegra Di2 groupset for 2800 euros: https://www.bike-discount.de/en/radon-vaillant-disc-9.0-2. Even with bad wheels, value is through the roof as groupset alone is 1500 euros.

On a unrelated note, Twitter bike has been rebranded in the West:

Re: Seka Exceed RDC Broken Frames: Source of Concern? Regarding Seka vs Elilee - just get whichever frame looks better to you and fits you better.
IMO, companyade aero tests are just marketing, same as UCI stickers. Elilee say that their frame is just slightly worse than Tarmac SL7, but which Tarmac SL7 did they compare to? Sworks with deep carbon wheel and aero bars or the cheapest SL7 eith regular handlebar and cheap alloy wheels? Difference in parts selection can be madsive (i.e. Specialized's own SL7 marketing where they claimed massive improvements, but forgot to mention that it was SL7 with carbon wheels vs SL6 with alloy wheels).

To me, Seka Exceed looks infinitely better and geometry of Exceed is slightly better IMO.

Although both frames aren't that great of value when Cervelo Soloist exists
