Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803308490756.html

I caved in and bought this GR9 gravel groupset for a gravel bike I'm currently building. I was debating between this and the Sensah SRX, but the LTwoo Shimano compatibility and cheaper price won me over. I can mix-n-match the LTwoo RD and shifters with my Shimano components. Since I don't have any SRAM gear, the Sensah SRX wouldn't be compatible with the rest of my gear. With the current sale, I was able to apply a promo code to reduce the price. I also purchased a lightweight 11-50t cassette to go with the GR9 groupset.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I like that the shifter is Shimano style (two levers for shifts) the Sensah shifters are single type if I'm not wrong.

I currently have the Sensah Team Pro shifters which are Shimano compatible, but I'm not entirely happy with the shifting. Even though it's supposedly index, it still relies on a certain amount of friction/force to get into gear. My Shimano shifters shift perfectly on every click.  I want to see how the LTwoo shifters handle. Only downside is that reviews mention high gear shifting needs to be done in the hoods. I was originally planning to order some 105 shifters for my gravel build, but I was able to get a cassette, chain and LTwoo shifters/Rd for a really good price.

Plus the GR9 shifters are 1x only and come in at 400g with alloy levers. 105 R7000 shifters are 500g and the left FD shifting would just go to waste on my 1x build.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I bought the LTWOO A7 10 speed mtb shifters. They're supposed to be 1:1/Sram compatible but i could never get them working right with an X9 10 speed derailer.

There's barely any info regarding the LTwoo GR9 groupset, but there seems to be some positive review on their R9 road groupset, especially the 12 speed setup. Also the seller I posted in my previous thread seems to be really on-point. They sent me photos of the product and my box with shipping label before sending it out. Crossing fingers it will be somewhat decent. Though I'll probably mix-n-match my Shimano gear first to see how they play together.

Re: SUNRIMOON Helmets I bought some AliEx helmets awhile back and they work fine. The problem I had with legit brand helmets was sizing. I bought several name brand/expensive helmets and returned them all. My head is between a medium and large, forcing me to go large most the time and all the helmets looked like mushrooms on my head. Some of the AliEx helmets come spec'ed between M/L and visually didn't look big on my head so I bought two helmets online that look great. The injected foam looks solid and my theory is that I only need the helmet to work once! Plus Costco (big US membership store) sells cheap $25 USD MIPs helmets, so it makes me wonder how much of a premium the name brands are charging?

Re: SUNRIMOON Helmets
I'm the same way. My big ass head is surprisingly just a bit too small for my POC helmet. The helmet feels good on my head, but I wouldn't look so much like a dork if the size L helmets were just a bit smaller. Also the damn POC straps are just never long enough and almost too short for my ears when fully extended.
I bought an AliX Abus copy which fit well, admittedly a bit better than the POC but obviously not as high quality and a bit less comfortable. My gf needed a helmet so I gave it to her. It's certainly worth the $25 or so it cost.
Thanks for the Costco tip. I'll definitely look those up.

Actually I think they were priced higher now that I looked up the Costco helmet, but still well-priced. I did try one in-store and it fit well...though not great looking:

Also I bought two knock-off helmets, a Trek Bontrager and a POC. I ended up just taking off the stickers on the Trek helmet since they were heat applied to the surface. The knock-off POC helmet I left as-is because the graphics were under the clear coat. Though I bought a gold color that isn't in the POC line-up. I compared it to my buddy's official POC helmet and you can barely tell the difference beside the internal padding. Also every helmet video I've seen comparing these knockoffs have been done by the bike companies themselves. If the bike industry had their way as well, they'd probably make videos saying how Chinese carbon is also unsafe! Lol

Re: Suggestions on a; 165mm, 30-46t Cranksets with BSA Bracket
There's also a Dub version. Not sure if that works with your set up. Some prefer the beefier spindle.
Can anyone confirm if that 24mm spindle is aluminum or steel?

According to the description it's alloy:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Yeah also the shipping is hit or miss. Sometimes I order from small time AliEx sellers that ship faster than the so-called gold or plus sellers. Even the guaranteed 12-day shipping doesn't even come in 12 days. My favorite sellers are the ones who post tracking details almost immediately and have thorough communication. I'm thinking it might be beneficial to make a list of fast AliEx sellers, small or big that fit that criteria.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! L-Twoo 12 speed hydraulic groupset has dropped on AliEx! I'm tempted, but I'm in no rush!

BTW - This seller is top notch, they send photos of the item and package before shipping and my last item I ordered from them arrived within a 1 1/2 weeks to the US from China.

Adidas cycling gear US Online store - big discounts https://www.adidas.com/us/cycling

You need to sign up for a free Adidas account to get the discounts. Not as good as top tier kits, but their discounts are bordering on AliExpress prices for some of the gear and in my opinion is a step up in quality.

Also you can ride with a bunch of kitted out Rapha and MAAP riders, but the Adidas stuff tends to get more looks based on style.  ;)
