I did notice the cable routing too. It does look rough. Its *possible* that they may be early images...at least I hope so.

Its the geometry that's appealing to me. I like the reach...and the short 430mm length chainstays. I'm 5'8" and have short-ish legs with a long-ish torso.

Compared to the IP-057...the WW-062 has shorter chainstays and a slightly longer reach.

Poking around...the geometry looks like its pretty close to the 2015 Stumpjumper. Looks almost like a direct copy.

I want to see one built up. Its hard to see one when a new frame comes out. If you look on eBay...you'll see an actual frame. I wonder how it compares to the 256. I was quoted over 700 for the 256 delivered. The WCB is considerably cheaper than the 256.

Has anybody heard of or have any experience with this frame? Looks like they give you three different BB options. Good thing is that they use a 27.2 post. I really don't want to give up or buy a new P6 Hiflex post. The 100mm headtube length (17in) seems reasonable too as the front end won't be super high. They are also claiming a ~1050gr weight.

The "direct to consumer" businesses are starting to come up.

YT is doing that in the US. They sell direct to the consumer with the middle man.

Their aluminum Capra model with a Pike, X9 drivetrain, and some pretty decent components sells for 3k. For an extra 200 you get the SRAM X1 drivetrain. Its one bike that I would literally buy and ride. You will not get that level of bike with any of the big box manufactures. From Specialized, the cheapest bike with a Pike is an aluminum hardtail at 3200.

Another few noon questions:

1- do you guys clean your bike after a muddy ride like this? I'd clean my road bike, but it's rare that it gets that muddy. Not sure if you guys clean them only to get dirty again.

2- is it bad etiquette to ride trails when they are so soft? I don't want to ruin the trail or anything.

1- after a muddy ride like that...I do clean off the bike. After some recent rain in So Cal, the bike did get a bit muddier than usual. My GF went through the grand daddy of mud puddles...I spent a decent amount of time cleaning it off. :o

2- depending on the amount of rain...I'll typically wait 2 or 3 days after the rain stops. While it can be fun to ride in the mud...it sucks to clean off the bikes when they get that dirty. I say "bikes"...I have to clean my GF's bike too.

Sometimes its frowned upon to ride right after a rain around here. Depending on where you go...riding in the mud can really tear up the trails.

Oh...nice ride BTW!  ;D

Nice looking bike Jake!  :)

Putting my SLX crank up for sale. It comes with a Race Face 30T narrow/wide chainring. Its got about 50 hours of riding on it. Comes with the bottom bracket. I cannot for the life of me find the original rings.

The cranks come with the normal wear and tear of used cranks. Its got some scratches on the ends of the arms...some scratches on the sides of the arms. All pretty typical. There are some smaller scratches that are not showing up in the picture. Good thing is that you don't have to worry about getting that first scratch on them! :P  Overall still in good shape.

100 shipped, including Paypal fee.

Most of the bikes are designed around a 100mm fork.

Only downside...maybe would be throwing off the geometry slightly. It could make a tall 29er front end even taller, slightly raise the bottom bracket, shorten the reach a bit. The other possible thing is that the 120mm fork may put some undue stress onto the headtube area...possible. Some bike companies will void your warranty if you run a 120mm fork on a frame that was designed around a 100mm.

I've seen guys run 120mm forks with no issues...YMMV.

After The Ride / Re: What kind of riding do you do?
« on: August 14, 2014, 04:30:25 AM »
Roadie first. Then XC-ish mountain biking. Also have a 26in full suspension for ski resort riding.

Cervelo S2, Specialized Carve, Pivot Mach 5.

Still trying to sort which Chiner frame I'm going to go with.

I should be heading to Interbike next month...maybe I'll get lucky and be able to buy a frame from one of the Chinese vendors then.

He would need a 42T in the rear and a 28T in the front to get his 24/36 low gear he currently has if he goes 1x.

The Eggbeaters have a fairly light release action. I'm using the same pedals currently. I find that riding them with a carbon sole shoes feel alot better for power transfer. I went from a Specialized Comp shoe to an S-Works Trail...and I can feel the difference when pedaling. There is also a bit less soreness in the arch of the foot due to less flexing of the shoe.

29er / FR-225 and IP-106?
« on: August 04, 2014, 06:24:40 PM »
Does anybody have any information besides what Google tells me? I can't seem to find any builds or reviews on it. This frame will allow me to swap all my parts over to it. Mostly the 27.2 Specialized CG-R post. I really like that thing. The look of the frame is kinda growing on me...humpback and all.  ;D

Also on the IP-106...I can't seem to find a Geo chart that doesn't give me a headache. :o Is there a standard geo chart floating around somewhere? One thats not a blueprint looking one. From what I found...the head tube in a medium is 120mm? That is super tall. That would put my bars up like a chopper.

Thanks!
