Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail Could also be interesting as a 'progressive' gravel frame option.  Particularly paired with a Lauf fork.   If you have pretty gravelly but very steep trails like I do.

Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail
I've learned something!

What is a progressive gravel bike?

Performance-oriented gravel bikes with longer frame proportions that are typically paired with a shorter stem, compact drop bars, or even flat bars.

Typical attributes include: Longer reach and front-center than traditional All-Road/Gravel bikes.

From https://bikeinsights.com/categories/road-bike/mixed-terrain-road-bike/progressive-gravel

I think progressive is just generally used to indicate slacker head and steeper seat angles.   I didn't realize there was an 'official' definition for progressive gravel.

Though unfortunately it seems that due to some crying on German forums the optional FD mount from the early frames has been completely eliminated as an option.  Still rather have 2x on gravel.

Re: Supercaliber Clone Doubt it.  Would need a bespoke shock.  Unless you're going to totally change the shock / linkage design, in which case what's the point?

Re: Carbonda FM909
ooooh a 909 with the Mara... lmk how it goes. I have a Mara on my 936, I hope to get a 909 frameset eventually once I'm done abusing my 936 (If I ever finish assembling it, lol)

Not sure how much useful data I'll be able to give in the near term.  Frame should be painted and on its way soon, but this is my first MTB since the 90s (ok I did have one fully rigid set up as a city bike).  I've ridden a few FS and hardtails in the last few years, but my knowledge of contemporary shock tuning is way behind.

But I got the Mara and R7 Pro because both are generally suggested to be easy to service, have great damping performance out of the gate, and less reliant on super fine tuning to get decent performance (compared to say Fox or RS).  Also I've read enough reports about short travel RS and Fox shocks and forks that makes it sound like not much has changed in 15-20 years and they're still crashy pogo sticks.

Re: Groupset News
Totally unsourced conjecture, but there is speculation that the L-TWOO RX 2x12 shifters share the same Shimano 11s Road pull ratios with the R9 2x11 and GR9 1x11. This means that Shimano 11s Road RDs (incl. Tiagra 4700 10s) can potentially be turned into 12s with a pair of L-TWOO 12s shifters.

Hope they do this.  Shimano will be so mad.  And it will be delicious.

Re: Speeder SC-R48
I have come to the conclusion that there are 2 possibilities:
the first one, Winspace and Speeder are the same factory, the second, Speeder is the supplier of Winspace, in both cases the direct sales by Speeder are helpful to sell the frame that don't have passed the QC required by the main customers.

Highly doubt the latter.  Yes it's more work and volumes are lower, but the margin is hugely higher and buyers are more likely to complain publicly..  Evidence is anecdotal in my personal experience but Carbonda stuff has typically been nicer quality than some of not-great OEM FlyBike stuff I've seen from the same moulds.  Same goes for Speeder / WinSpace.  Same goes for WorksWell and various brands that use them.

Speeder are the OEM / ODM for WinSpace .. and they're not officially linked.  But the ownership of a lot of these Chinese cycling groups is murky and a lot of investors are common, so there may be more than meets the eye.

Re: Race oriented gravel frame?
VeloBuild just announced a new CX frame. Tempted to switch over from my newly built GF-002 to the new CX-002 for the more race oriented geometry.

Given the total crap that VB have been sending out to a lot of customers lately, not sure I'd take the gamble on a new one, if the one you have already is acceptable ...

Re: Carbonda FM909
Is it possible to add external routing option too?
Could you tell me how much have you additionally paid to get this blue carbon color? Are there more "transparent" color options?

Think there are 5 or 6 tinted clearcoat over raw carbon options.  Pricing will depend on what you want done.  Think mine came to about $250 ... tinted clear over raw carbon, paint splatter over that, final transparent clear over that.

Take a look at TIME's latest finishes for inspiration maybe.

Re: Any cheaper alternatives to Park's fancy allen wrenches? If you want the nicest - but still much cheaper than Park - then get Wera.  Most Park stuff is really overpriced relative to the quality.
