Re: Chinese SC/AM831 Group Buy
Would it make sense, to push for a better discount if we get more, say 60 orders?

Doubtful it's anywhere near that high,  and no it doesn't make sense. Just incentivizes corner cutting and using the cheapest hardware possible (bolts, bearings etc)

Re: Is R-099 the right choice for my frame? Assuming she's also riding a 56 in the Raleigh, the 56 in that linked Velobuild is going to a have a bit less stack, and a lot more reach (16mm is a lot).

No idea how tall she is or what her build is like, but women are typically better off going for something with less reach and more stack,  even potentally as a racer, as they typically have longer legs and shorter torsos than men. Almost all the female pros ride endurance bikes or womens bikes (exaggerated endurance geometry) in stage races and classics.

If she has a typically long legged  build (relative to the average man), I'd look at something more relaxed - there aren't too many really relaxed Chinese Endurance road frames I know of. So maybe consider a cyclocross or gravel bike. She'll probably be a lot more comfortable,  and it'll better deal with knocks and abuse of commuting.

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707 Chunky joins seem to be increasingly popular on dropped straight (rather than noodley) seatstays, both with the big brands and the Chinese (LightCarbon & TanTan Gravel).... however that one looks bizarre, and very ungainly and ugly.

Personally I like the option for fully integrated, though I hope it comes with an option for just stem rather than full integrated 'cockpit', with a few options for angle and reach, and provision for spacers rather than solely zero stack.

I'm assuming the frame design is 'native' to BB86 and others will be retrofit. Or maybe it's just the proto.

30.9mm is a bizarre choice. This is hardly the most progressive geometry on a Chinese gravel bike ... so presumably won't really be in the running for dropper builds anyway.

I'm still interested in those new Workswell frames, if I ever see any feedback.

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707
Wie, nice! Can't you find the company online?
Seems like 650b but can't identify the tire thickness.
It is a Taiwanese company if I remember well. Peter who was a great seller here for a while, told me he didn't like to work with them. I did find a couple of email addresses, but didn't get any reply.
A lot of great OEMs buy in Taiwan, OPEN Cycles for example. I assume they don't reply because they don't want to deal with single private customers. They might only reply if you are an OEM or pretending to be one.

OPEN's quality is at best variable IMO, though that is not an indictment of TW.... they likely get what they pay for.  ORA are Taiwanese and I don't think there's a better Steel or Ti frame builder in the world.

Re: Stone or Pass Quest Chainrings - AliExpress 2000-2500 miles isn't exactly hard wearing.... that seems like pretty low endurance and would certainly put me off from buying absolute black.

Re: Chinese aero style gravel bar? Received the Carbonda bar.

Seems very nice on cursory inspection.

Thanks for the tip @zilcho

Arc8 Eero - which open mould is it? AFAIK all of Arc8's bikes are Chinese open mould.

Anyone know which the Eero is?

I'm interested because it has fully integrated cabling and they actually have a 70mm stem option.  Usually 90 is minimum.

https://www.arc8bicycles.com/framesets/eero-frameset?config=open

It showed up in the new Gee Milner vid.

Re: TopCarbon TCGF066 gravel frame Why not just state that you're a rep of TopCarbon and offer to field questions about your company's products.  Nobody is going to believe the post you made is legitimate interest from a third party.  This just makes your company look dodgy and desperate.  Which is a shame as a couple of the road frames actually look interesting.

Re: Winspace G2 Gravel/Road Help (1st build) If I were you, if you're set on that frame, I'd buy it from Light Bicycle instead.  Customer service tends to be better.  I think Winspace have had significant issues handling their own growth. It's identical.
