I took apart my R180 hub yesterday after about 130km of which 85 in very bad weather and mud. Everything looks OK. The tips of the ratchets look a little bit worn, but since they are razor sharp this might be normal. I packed the ratchet with grease, assembled everything and... the ratchet would no longer engage... I took it apart again, added some oil to the grease and that solved the problem. Here is my work-in-progress. Frame, handlebar and wheels are from LC. For the decal, I simply provided the font and there is a little graphic on the headtube where I used simple online tools to reduce a picture to black and white and then made the background transparent. Have you also had this gap reported by some in the head tube (upper bearing and headset)? Thank you for your contribution. It actually looks good on my bike and I don't have any gaps - and I haven't even finalized everything yet. I have a different handlebar because the handlebar stem units didn't fit me in terms of dimensions, but that has nothing to do with the gap... I have also assembled the bike so far and so far I am very satisfied. I'm having my fork shortened by a friend in the next few days. My 2 cents on bottles and I don’t want to open a discussion about health here… but with all concerns about BPA and it’s modifications and health concerns, I’m not exactly trusting entirely unregulated plastic bottle manufacturers from Aliexpress. I’m all in for unbranded Chinese products otherwise, but feel like that in this case it’s not exactly worth even the potential risk. After all normal branded bottles are so cheap in absolute terms. I think if you go with Matte paint there is never a top coat. Even for Mercedes Benz cars if you go with matte paint there isn't a top coat. Sucks about the other issues though and doesn't look super good for velobuild quality :/
