Re: Magene L508 Radar bike light bought a Garmin Varia RTL 515, loved it, had to send it back for warranty, the usb cover got dislodged on gravel ride. Did not want to be without a radar so I got a Magene L508 in the interim. Now have two radar lights and I ride with the Magene and lend the Garmin to friends to convince them to buy their own (and the end up buying the Magene).

Main differences other that Magene is smart tail light and brightens when you brake (which is why I ride with it)
The Garmin is slightly brighter (but I run both in flashing mode)
When a car matches your speed, the Garmin will keep the alert for a couple of seconds longer than the Magene before it drops. But once a car or other object including another bike matches your speed the alert will disappear.

Other than that the are the same, get false postives from both, usually from vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. Never had a false negative, ie no missed approaching cars. They both work with Wahoo Bolt V2, Wahoo Elmnt, Garmin 510, Garmin 935 watch and Magene C 508.

Re: What lube? Been waxing my chains for years, it's awesome. So clean! It's meant to save a few watts too. Followed the videos from that autistic Australian guy.
Have i mentioned how clean they make the bike?
:D

I use a metal bowl over boiling water (bain marie in french), instead of a rice cooker. As far as i can tell, it does the same thing.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I pulled the trigger and ordered eR9. Along with many of you, I agree that $150 might not be worth the ~55g weight reduction. I can easily save that weight from other reasonable components. Including tax and Aliexpress coupon code, I got the set for ~$530, which makes things very interesting. I plan on staying on 11 speed so that I don't have to upgrade my relatively new cassette(s) that I bought for my bike and trainer.

I have to admit that the price of 105 Di2 is also very tempting. I had seen listing on Aliexpress ~$850 for an almost complete groupset (excluding rotors), which are no longer available. But accounting for shipping and tax, the overall upgrade cost for 105 Di2 is still much higher vs eR9, especially for someone like me who only needs to upgrade the shifter and derailleur combo.

I will try to give an update whenever I get them on my hands and do some testing. I am now eagerly waiting for them to arrive and install them on my bike.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets Quick update for those who are curious about eR9. I ordered no box and no battery. The package itself is well done.

I have bad news and good news. Let me start with the bad news to get it over with. After lots of debugging, I found out that one of the cables (short one for FD) is faulty. Initially, the front derailleur (FD) intermittently stops working and I thought it was the FD that was faulty. It turned out, connecting that cable to the rear derailleur gives the same problem, and so I concluded that it was the cable. I have contacted LTWOO store from which I bought the set and now waiting for a response.

The good news is all other components are really well-built. I was really impressed. The small hood size feels amazing on the hand. Buttons are very clicky and feel solid. The shape and reach of the levers are just perfect for the size of my hand and fingers. The texture of the rubber hood feels slightly different from Shimano, feels a little less smooth, but I like it. Since rear derailleur is fine, it shifts quickly and there is barely any noticeable delay from the moment the button is pressed to the shift. I can confirm that the trim option is there, but no auto-trimming (they removed this for patent reason).

I can also confirm that LTWOO has now enabled 10 speed option on the application. The eR9 set came out to be just slightly lighter than the quoted weight by LTWOO. See the breakdown below.

I have not installed the set on the bike yet. I was bummed that a single cable prevents me testing them on the road. This will have to wait a little while.

Re: trifox x18 I have yet to encounter a truly honest and trustworthy frame seller on Aliexpress...

  • The OG-Evkin MTB frame I bought developed a crack and the seller lied for 6 weeks to me about a replacement frame. They blocked me in the end so their warranty means nothing.
  • The TFSA frame is nice, but there were problems with production and shipping and the seller was not really very communicative about those. I also asked them for a quote for frame only after I crashed my first frame.  They told me they would let me know, but they never got back to me. I decided to get the Hygge frame
  • The Hygge frame looks great and communication with the seller was also very good, but afterwards the seller and a couple of distributors stole my pictures off this forum and used the for advertising... Hygge themselves removed them in the end but the distributors just laughed in my face and blocked me on IG

When I was researching the TFSA frame, I also communicated with Delihea about their frames, and communication was very good. They advised against a fully internal handlebar.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
IMO, Elitewheel Edge. Not the cheapest, but they're 555€ shipped right now due to sales, which is insane value for 50mm wheels that weight less than 1400 grams.

Those wheels do look good. I'll probably have to wait for the next sale if I do buy those. I have the standard ENT wheels from Elite and they've been holding up just fine with no issues. I just wish they weighed a bit less.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets A review from GC Performance. On the whole, pretty good apart from initial battery issues (now fixed).

Re: Systemsix frame I just preemptively ordered my group set (Ltwoo ER9) and wheels (Elite wheels Pro 55mm). After wrapping up a couple of final questions for Speeder, it seems like I have a beautiful build to do within the next couple of months.

Thank you all for the help. I will surely post pictures of the parts and complete bike.

Re: 3d printed stem spacers???
I've ran some 3d printed stem spacers on my bike for ~1000km after I built it up until the white color irked me enough to order some cheap carbon ones.

It was printed out of 100% PLA, didn't have any issues with creep in that time.
Since the load is compressive and fairly low, there will be hardly any creep especially if you print it 100% infill.

That being said, use PETG or something that won't deform in the heat :)

3D-printed spacers above the stem are a whole different story. They are not loaded and therefore not critical at all. They are only loaded while you tighten the headset. Theoretical (I ofc do not advise) you could remove the spacers after you tightened the stem bolts.

However, a lot of Allez Sprints use 3D printed spacer adapter for the SL7 stem, as a loaded part...
