Re: Lexon GFX Carbon Gravel Bike Frame Build Yup, I just got an email this morning from AMEX that I was fully refunded, so this chapter can now be closed. Not sure what I will do with this frame now though, maybe just leave it as a reminder to always use AMEX for these types of purchases!

Re: Chasing wind-GT20 OR Airwolf YFR045 carbon Gravel frames , any experience ? The build was completed with the Sensah SRX 1x11 groupset. The breaks are cable activated ZRACE BR-005 hydraulic disc.
I had an older 105 crankset lying around that I combined with a Stone 42 tooth chainring and a ZRACE 11-46 cassette.
The build went really smooth and I decided to install only semi internal cabling to prevent sharp bends on the compressionless break housings. The weight comes in at 8.7kg for the bike including pedals, bottle cages and Garmin mount.

First impressions are very good but only 150km so far...

Here some pictures:

Re: Lexon "Riot 10" Hi all, after winter and covid stop >:( I've finally been able to test my Riot !
Only 2 rides at the moment, did some suspension tuning and ride really well.
I have Schwalbe Maguic Mary+Hans Dampf on it and it pedal fast...can't imagine hoiw it could be with something aroung 750/800 grams tyre.
Need to take her on some alpine trail as soon as possible ;D

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707 I finally finished painting my frame and am starting the build. It came out a bit more purple than I hoped (so much for trying to pick colors online...) and the paint isn't quite as good as a professional job, but overall I'm pleased.

I used Montana Cans an Spray Max 2k primer and clear coat. It's a really fun project if you like sanding.  :D

Re: BTLOS Wheels Glad you posted your wheels on bike.  Makes so much more sense now why you wanted orange logos.

Re: Clipless Pedals
XCadey are working on a set of power meter pedals!

These pictures are from a patent submitted in July 2021. For perspective, the patent for their latest power meter crankset (April 2021 product launch) was submitted in June 2020. With the 2022 bike show rescheduled to August, we may well see XCadey PM pedals debut alongside Sensah hydraulic brakes and the Wheel Top road groupset.

I find myself starting to look to you as my go to source for industry news. lol

Re: Fovno Crank sets I think one of the best cranksets has been hiding in plain sight for the longest time

It's not advertised but the XCadey road crankset can be ordered sans power meter. 24mm Titanium spindle (so no BB86 w/ 29mm or 30mm issues), 4 arm spider (unsure if the 5 arm can be ordered this way) and likely doesn't suffer from flex issues like the Magene.

The only other Ti spindle crankset I can think of are the eeWings which are 30mm. I wonder if a 24mm Ti spindle will have the same issues as one made from alloy? There's also the Miranda X-MOD which does use a 24mm Ti spindle but there's no information on how it holds up.

Re: Clipless shoes Ive heard (ie take with a grain of salt)...
Sidebike is reliable.
Santic ought to be, as they're a more recognized brand.
I know the chinacycling guy likes (liked?) Tiebao

I myself have used City Cycling/Hyper Cycling carbon soled shoes - they are the sharpest looking of the bunch.
They were fine until I tried to heat mold them. Contrary to the advertisement, they're not heat moldable - the glue had a lower melting point than the carbon resin.

In the end though,  this is one area where I'd buy locally.
The best shoe in the world still sucks if it doesn't agree with your feet...
