Re: Carbonda fork vibration You also need to check the space between the top of the steering tube and the plug. Sometimes the tube is cut too long, which makes it contact the plug, preventing proper compression.

Keep tightening the plug gradually. Place the bike on the ground, pull the front brake, and place your thumb and index finger in front and back of the frame where the headset contacts. Then, push/pull the bike to feel for any play. Tighten the plug just enough so you don't feel any play, but not too much more than that.

Re: Carbonda fork vibration I had the same problem with my Carbonda 696. I checked the fork just now, but there was no play in the bottom bearing area. BUT: then I noticed there was play in the upper bearing area.
I tried upping the preload with the top cap bolt, but could not get it tight enough. It looks like the expander was the problem. The spikes on the surface of the expander seem to have become dull, so there was not enough grip and I just pulled the expander up instead of increasing the preload.
I had another expander, put that in the fork tube et voila. I can not get enough preload to stop the movement.

Re: Carbonda fork vibration I moved to the 50mm long Origin8 alloy compression plug and it solved the slipping issues on my 696 fork

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707
Thank you! Did you negotiate with them to get those prices or were they just the prices you were quoted? I assume ordering direct via email is the best option vs some secret AliX store?

I went direct and spoke to Wing at Carbonda. I don't think I did negotiate, but maybe I did. I recall the shipping was an issue as all freight at that time was really expensive. Nothing to say you couldn't try to negotiate though, as things are different now.

My one piece of advice would be to be VERY specific with any paint or logo requests. Pull together a document with colours, logo placement areas, any fonts etc. Things can easily get lost in translation.

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707 In case anyone is wondering about current prices...

CFR707 w/ Bar - $650
headset - $15
axles - $26
spacers $5
hangar - $8
shipping to US $190
paint $95

+ transaction fees on payment are approx 5%

All-in will be over $1k. Not bad but definitely more than I was expecting for an off-brand china frameset.

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707 Build pics coming soon…I think you guys will find it interesting since this will be one of the most heavy duty, upright 707 builds out there:

60mm suspension fork, 50mm tires, 30mm of headset spacers, a 17 degree rise stem, Ritchey Corralitos bars (12mm rise, super shallow drop), 180mm rotors with Juin F1 brakes, MicroShift Sword, and MTB hubs — i9 Torch front, Hope Pro 4 rear.

It’ll drop some weight when I upgrade the suspension fork from the current Suntour GVX and get a carbon post, but is currently about 25lbs.

Re: Another Seaboard GR02  I've recently build up my seaboard gr02, in the special Blue/Purple glitter color way they have. Tbh the color is a bit too much for be, but oh well. This will be my main commuter, do any of you happen to have found fitting mudguards for the rainy days?

Tires: GP Urban 35C
Groupset: Sensah Team pro shifters, 105 r7000 rear derailleur, Shimano Cues u6000 42t Crankset
Brakes: Illpro flatmount semi-hydraulic, 160 illpro disc rear, sram centerline 180 in the front
Seatpost: Tooseek super light
