Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
1st proper ride with the VB-TT-023 today Bike is truly stiff, broke alot of PR’s today on a route that i havent been on for several months. Considering that this is my first time on a TT bike, i am truly happy with the frame and my build, no issues on a 63 mile ride with 1k feet of elevation, i completed the ride in 3:06.22 averaging 20.1mph on 204watts. Re: Ace Sprint carbon wheels on Aliexpress
Interested to see the Tri spoke. The disc is good quality. It's exactly the same as the nine velo disc which is in the $1200 range. Just be aware that with the ultra light weight, it sacrifices a bit of lateral stiffness. So if you have super tight clearance on your rear stays, you might get a bit of brake or tire rub on hard efforts (standing up hill). Personally it can be an issue on my Cervelo p3x. I went with a different disc on the p3x which was from Gozone. It's about 200gr leaving but stiffer. I prefer this gozone disc overall. It gives a bit more clearance on the drive side so if you are running an OSPW RD you don't have as much a chance of rubbing against the disc. I personally prefer the Gozone disc wheel for that reason but it is more expensive. I have 3 other sets of wheels from Ace sprint varying from 60mm to 80mm depths. All carbon spokes. They're great wheels. Well built with smooth hubs. No complaints at all. Shipping can take a little longer if you make customizations like decals or finishes, but Edwin communicated well. Re: Winowsports NEW Carbon TT Rest Extension Handlebar ARB02 and TT handlebar HB052
Would you be able to provide the length of the mount? Just want to see if it will fit nicely as I have my bars fairly close together.Hi friends. about 98MM. Normal installation will not protrude that much. December 03, 2024, 08:47:37 PM |

Re: Airwolf YFT058 Time Trial Frame
Ican has a pretty nice looking new TT frame set you might also consider. Not sure if it's for sale yet, though. https://www.icanbikes.com/Products-list/carbon-tt-bike-frame/ December 09, 2024, 02:23:04 AM |

VeloBuild VB-TT-023 frame build-up
Just kicking off a thread to document the frame build. Parts used pictures taken an links to videos as I upload them. Hopefully it will help some other novice frame builders in the future to solve build issues or get a closer look at frame parts before pulling the trigger on purchasing this frame. Extras in the box. 3 water bottle cages and extra screws for a taller towers. But no extra spaces. I will design and 3d print if I need to increase stack height. The frame is a standard matt black in M with 420 bars and L rest bars (I am 175cm tall with a slightly longer trunk than the average person), here is a picture of all the bits out of the box a picture of the fork in place pre-cut and post cut with the stem attached. I plan on getting some youtube unboxing video's up this weekend. Will add to this thread as I upload things. Expected completion date of build end Dec as I am time poor. Re: Cervelo R5 "tribute"- Tan Tan FM639 build
Frame is a size 54. I was debating going for a 56 as I wanted more reach but I prefer the more aggressive look. Chain is KMC Cost wise, hmm let me tally it up. This includes shipping to the US. Frameset w/paint: $735 Wheelset: $652 Tavelo bars were like $350 IIRC Shimano mini groupset: $400 Quarq PM crankset: $500 like 6 years ago Extralite chainring: $120 GP5Ks: Prob like $220 Lightweight rotors: $44 Elita One seatpost (x2): $44 Ryet saddle: $25 GOLDIX cassette: $129 Headset + BB: $70 or so Total: $3289 + ~280 in labor. In retrospect I kind of wish I'd gone Di2; that would have saved another 200g and improved shifting. In fact I will prob do that next year. That, the lighter rotors and the 1x chainring should get me solidly in the 6kg range. In any case a big brand bike for similar money is like 8-9kg with worse components so I can't complain. That's why we go this route right? Lol Overall though def pleased with the bike...... Im in the US so of course the weather sucks right now but I got my winter gear read and am looking to get some miles. One thing that became clear is my old bike def needs a tune up- might need a new headset and def needs work on the shifting. Not terrible though. December 11, 2024, 06:08:21 AM |
