Component Deals & Selection / Re: Best sub $400 carbon 29er wheels

I had LightCarbon build a set of those exact wheels for me and had a good experience. I would echo the comment that if you are running 2.5" tires that you should get a wider rim up front. I wish I ordered a wider rim for my front wheel.

the 165mm is the only length that matters for fitting it to your frame. the smaller number is the amount of travel available to that shock.

like the above poster said, it will reduce the amount of total rear end travel available to you. i'm not sure why you'd want to do this...a 165x42.5mm shock is easy enough to find.

How did you guys route the hydraulic brake lines through the frame? I just had a hell of a time with the dropper post

So i agree that you started a little high with the frame but what a lot of guys on this forum are unwilling to try that i have tried and know people to have tried is buy all parts from aliexpress.  Most people on this forum stop on the frame.... they think that that is the only corner worth cutting because of the stigma of fox and rock shox.  I do think that such a build is still possible but you will have to do a ton of research.  There is a company on aliexpress that sells shocks called Himalo and having worked in a bike shop for many years and taken apart many shocks in my day cannot tell you a single difference between Himalo and other name brand shocks.  It wouldnt surprise me if they are the same thing.  I have ran them for a little over six months and they are incredible. for 180 USD  you can buy himalo shocks at 100 to 200 mil travel and they are incredible. that would save you a ton of money.

i'm really curious - what's the dampening setup on a himalo fork like? what range of fox/rockshox forks are they comparable to?

I ordered a 22.0x8 mounting hardware and the fit is snug as it should on my RS super deluxe. The frame comes with shims that go on the sides of the mounting hardware. That might be the difference here. No problems on my end. The lightcarbon site is dumb. They specify a 30.0x8 but they link to a 22.0x8 mounting kit.

i just assumed that you were supposed to pick the 30x8mm set from that amazon link. i'll measure my frame when it arrives and report back.

Got my yari in 4 weeks, seems to be 100% genuine, very happy with it for 350euro delivered, might upgrade it to a lyrik ultimate.

i'm super jealous - aliexpress collecting state taxes and crazy shipping costs completely kills this for me

With 2 sets of the bushing kits all fited perfecly and the rear shock could be mounted in place

Im building tihs as a trailbike more than a XC bike. So the front chainring is 30 teeth, the rear 11-51. All parts in the groupset are Shimano Deore

There are some small things left to adjust and a dropper post will be fitted, but the bike is now very close to finished.

I am very happy with the Light Carbon LCFS911 frame so far. Everything has fitted perfecly and the finish of all parts is really good.

Hey Stefan! I saw you also built up a LCFS958, which one do you like more?

Has anyone tried this frame with a 160mm fork? How's it feel?
