The eGR thread has been dead quiet. Maybe they haven't sold as many units? I have an eGR and so far it's been great. Though, I don't use it frequently for actual gravel riding, so I have no real commentary on durability other than I'm about 2months and 500 miles in on it with pretty rough roads and it's been flawless with exceptionally low battery drain. Survived at least one 40 mi ride in the rain, at least.

I'm curious about this group as well. I guess no news is good news?

Howdy all,

I'm new to Chinertown and new to ordering from AliExpress/Alibaba in general.

I'm building up a frameset and think I'd like to use ER9/X but unsure of which sellers/distributors to buy from? Any recommendations?

Diving into the deep end of the pool. Respect.

Like others, I'd recommend shimano parts for your first foray. Anrancee and Delic-bike store have legit shimano groups available.

Or you could get a full group at a decent price from merlincycles.

I bought a Ltwoo gravel group from 80 Designer store and they replaced a bad shifter after I provided video evidence that it wasn't working properly. They seemed to have the best prices at the time.

The only alloy frames on Ali that look decent to me would be the Seaboards or the AM (Koozer?) frames. Everything else looks pretty sketchy.

Its more of a "fun budget project aliexpress style" build...

Thrust carbon frame size M (should have probably gone for the L, but I was afraid it would end up being too long with drop bars). 250€
SRsuntour XCR34 forks (bought 3 years ago on Wiggle for 60€ :P)
Ryet 29" carbon wheels with Conti RaceKing tubeless tyres 260€+80€
Ltwoo RX shifters and GRT derailleur  160€+45€
ZRACE X2 brake calipers with SRAM 180mm + 160mm rotors 40€+15€
ZTTO 9-50 cassette 110€
Raceface crankset (leftower from a broken Canyon) + ZTTO PF30 BB xx + 15€
Xcadey power meter + 36T deckas chainring  220€+10€
450mm carbon seatpost 27.2mm 20€
Mixed 6D carbon saddle 20€
Bunch of other small parts from AE (tubless tape, handlebar tape, tubless valves, stem, spacers, chainstay guard ...)  30€
Stans tubeless sealant 15€
Old Look keo pedals (yeah road...) ??€

All in all its 10.6kg as it is... but the main problem is extremely heavy fork.
I'm thinking about replacing it with some AE rigid carbon fork.
Would probably suit the bike more. And drop the weight below 9kg.

It rides nice, could not test it much since I'm still recovering from a knee surgery... so I just took it for a slow 15km spin on flat gravel roads. Its very fast, on the tarmac it almost feels like a road bike.

Nice build! Do you think you could fit a bigger chainring?

I highly doubt a custom fork will be cheaper than those options. Just the cost of the mould is incredibly high, let alone the engineering and production cost.

Nice. Pics please! Sounds like an interesting build.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Anybody got a source for big platform pedals? Looking for something comparable to the Pedaling Innovations Catalyst. Thanks.

Those are a pretty niche product, and typically niche products don't end up having an Ali copy. If they do, they're usually pretty bad.

Hello. Looking for some advice for setting up RX rear derailleur. I recently built a bike with ltwoo rx groupset and I can't get it to shift at even somewhat acceptable level. Im using shimano 105 12sp cassette and a kmc chain with it. The shifting is ok from the middle of the block to the largest cog but on the smaller cogs, especially 4 smallest ones it's just total crap in both directions. You have to perform 2 shifts in order for chain to move. Sometmes it starts grinding with a single shift, sometimes not, sometimes it shifts(moving to larger cog seems a bit easier). I can get it to shift ok in one direction by adjusting the cable tension but then it stops working on a larger cogs. Derailleur hanger is straight. I have a full internal cable routing with probably doesn't make shifting better but i tried moving the cable by hand and theres barely any resistance in the housing. I tried using grx rx400 derailleur for test which should be compatible and it also shifted like crap. Would appreciate any suggestions,  I'm at the point of giving up and buying a 105 groupset instead

It might be your shifter that's bad. This sounds similar to what was going on with my new Ltwoo gr9 groupset. Tried it with a dura ace shifter and it shifted perfectly. Had to have the vendor ship me a new shifter.

They openly sell counterfeit items. That's enough for me to steer clear of them.
Check out the 29er section to find clones of Epic evo.

I've started checking to see if some of the ali stuff is available on amazon. If the price is not too inflated, I'll buy through amazon for shipping speed and easy return policy.

Flyxii fe 02 goes for about $400 shipped.
