SN go for the carbon hoops if you're able.  You'll shave 500 grams of rotating weight which will be a night and day difference in your ride.

Great job SN and congratulations on your new bike!  It looks beautiful and sounds like it rides great.  It was ALOT of fun reading your build thread and Watching all come together.  Please keep us updated on any new changes are thoughts.  Again, thanks for sharing!
Andy. :)

American classic did a bunch of testing and determined the best width is 32mm outside, 29.3mm inside width.  This is reflected in their production of the Wide lightning rim.

One of my sales reps is a huge wheel freak and has ridden everything.  he recommended to me I go with the Xmiplay 35mm hookless rims with the 30mm inside width.  I trust his word completely and am going with his recommendation.

Hope this helps!
Andy
P.S. SN your Chiner is shaping up nicely, can't wait to hear a ride report!

Thanks for the update SN.  Looking forward to seeing the completed build and ride report.

Ever thought about doing a little paint work to the frame or you just gonna leave it all black?  Either way it's gonna be sweet!

Really starting to look good.  Good job SN!

Is that a 30 or a 32 tooth RF chainring.  Also may I ask, where did you pick up the fork for $250?  Thanks,
Andy. :)

no, I wasn't wearing any armor and I don't really know anything about it.  Yes, it woulda helped with the cuts and bruising but the twisted ankle was the biggie.  Can't see myself wearing armor since I'm a cross country racer and would think it would be hot and binding.  But don't let me dissuade you from it.  Thanks,
Andy.

Thanks for the kind responses friends.  I've got my ankle braced and everything iced.  Should be back on the trails in a couple of days.  Thanks again!

18 pounds! Weighs more than your bike :)

LOL!  Now that is funny!

I need my little Tabby tonight to help me feel better.   I crashed hard out on our Friday night group ride tonight.  We were ripping down a downhill section and my front end clipped a root and threw it off to the side where it slipped off a retaining wall and I flipped end over end.  Nothing broken but LOTS of sprains, cuts, bruising and swelling.  I got lucky, at first I thought i'd broke my arm or wrist but it was just really stunned from the impact.  Oh, and the bike is fine.  :).

Girlfriend is irked and my boss will treat me like I'm an idiot for yet another bike accident. That's okay,  They just don't get it.  Oh well I love it and that's that.
Andy. :)

A little off topic but I gotta know.  CD why do you have a pic of a little yellow Tabby kitty cat in your posts?

I have a little yellow Tabby that I just adore.  His name is "Squirty" and he is my little shadow....I just love him.
Thanks CD.
