324r, I see on your Sette that you stacked a lot of spacers under your stem...is that how it came or is that about fit?

CD, I do remember reading that, I guess, part of your problem with grip shift was how they fit with your previous avid brakes.

Sussed, you say you have good grip with 3 fingers...don't you find your whole hand is moving with the shifting though?
Moving through the cassette, do you ratchet to do that, or just roll the grip shift up/down and hold until it gets across?

Haven't heard too much about them...they seem mainly available through SRAM's XX1 or XO1 series.
I haven't ridden them...except an old huffy 3-speed back 20 years...
It would seem troublesome in a rock garden type situation...bouncing around, shifting up and down accidently?
Obviously, we all could get used to them, but as I described above?

Watching the first video, I was thinking he may need to keep some speed going on some of those.
Otherwise, interesting trail...heck, I couldn't discern/see the trail very well in the video.
One area that looked dangerous(to me), the thin 'board bridge'? that had a turn in it...just looks like a place to fall because front tire slips out...you made it look easy...but I could see with a little more speed and possibly a dewey morning...off ya go.
A topic should be created where folks can post rides of trails..or special parts of trails or whatever...could be useful for those that may go to another's area(damn interesting to watch some anyways).

You tell us - 24 hour team event - are those mostly roads, fire roads, groomed paths?
If so, go with a rigid...that would be extremely light...which, I think, was high on your list.
If you need a little travel, LAUF makes a fork that was discussed somewhere in Chinertown...60mm travel and light.

Gotta say, that is awesome customer service from SRAM.
If you take a pin out - use one of Shimano's pin - their chain connector...read that they haven't gone to qwik-link because they believe their pin connection is stronger?

This may be a negative for the DT350's(see below) not sure if the BHS hubs or novatecs are stainless enduro bearings.

The 350 rear hub shares many similarities with the 240/340/440 family, unfortunately it does not share the stainless steel enduro bearings or the rubber seal on the drive side end cap so if you ride in a wet climate or wash the bike often the bearing go bad pretty quickly.

Not sure why we are worrying about weight.
Paint shouldn't be that much and would be how one 'decorates' their Chiner.
Most everybody has parts that could be replaced with something lighter....like XT brakes or seat or so on.

145
To me, that is really the reason behind the chiner's besides how one 'decorates' them, being able to choose the parts one wants.
Very few of the parts on the Haro have been chosen by anybody building a Chiner.

Here is a vendor is selling 1x groupset for $400.00:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-WARRANTY-COMPLETE-RACEFACE-RIDE-SRAM-X9-TYPE-2-1X10-CONVERSION-KIT-MTB-/171154948076?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d9a13fec
Cost is great
Performance ?
Weight - will have to put numbers together based on parts

Nice looking frame.
It looks familiar - maybe specialized enduro

The under 2.2 was more anecdotal...though the following link has another link where the person puts more into their thoughts:  http://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/tire-profile-changes-different-rim-widths-mountain-king-2-2-a-541569.html
It may be more on the tire sidewall height.
As I said earlier, it will be interesting to hear 325s thoughts and definately post some pictures.

Thought it was recommended somewhere that above 30mm on rims the tire should be bigger than 2.2
Looking forward to hearing how the tires and rims work out.
And always interested in what one's chiner design is.

DuraFace - you may get a lot of your answers by reading through 'all' of this site and if you feel up to it all the links at:  http://forums.mtbr.com/forum.php#classic-mountain-bike-forums
specifically this thread:  http://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/chinese-carbon-29er-640919.html
It sounds like T1000 is not available from Chinese manufacturers..if Cervelo is using it...they aren't having the frame made in China I would surmise.
