Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Speeder SC-R48

I find reviews mostly meaningless. Handling is primarily determined by geometry, wheels, tires and air pressure. I would love to read reviews that have been done blindfolded, without the reviewer knowing what he or she is riding. But it's not happening for obvious reasons. Also, everyone seems to be able to give reviews about wheels and frames and whatnot, no matter how technically proficient he or she is. Today's disc bikes are so balanced and differences in handling are so small. I had a look at the geometry chart of the SC-R48D and I was already pretty sure I knew what I could expect in terms of handling. Of course, I may be wrong but then I'm the first to acknowledge that. To be perfectly honest, the main driver why I ordered it is because of its simple look, round seatpost, external cables (I have plenty integrated bikes), light weight and EPS molding technology.

BTW, the frame head tube is tapered 1 1/8” - 1 1/2”. I thought I read here that the upper section is 1 1/2” which it isn't.
I agree, for me the reviews are mostly anecdotal. However I like looking at real images of the product. I do not care too much about their technical opinions in most cases because it is way too subjective but I usually  prefer a product where the vendor has proven to deliver goods reliably.

Nice! Yes I’m also almost about to order.
The only thing stopping me is that i can’t really find reviews except maybe two.
And none really about the frames besides the  OEM part.
The part about the badly photoshopped winspace branded bike on the product page implying its basically a slc2.0 is not 100% convincing to me because firstly they theoretically could have  just copied the picture without any real relation to winspace and the forks between those frames are also different.

I had a pretty bad experience with Velobuild. I would assume, that the other companys are more professional, have a better customer support etc. I would go for the geo you like the most, after that definately the best looking frame.
What size are you looking for?
So szies are ranging from 490-540 because their charts are quite heterogeneous.
I specifically chose these frames because on most i can get to the 400reach with 540 stack recommendation by my fitter. Or at least i can get close. Reach will be achieved by a longer stem and i can easily go a bit lower regarding the stack.
All these frames are more or less the same, on the lighter side and not really aero.

Thanks for your input regarding VB. They are my least preferred option.

So almost all endurance frames are under an embargo in europe.
The 306 is not (at least not in germany).
So for me the speeder sc r48d , the workswell 306 and yoeleo r11 are similarly priced. (Around 1.1k eur).
Vb177 is like 400 eur cheaper.
Is there a clear winner?

Haven't bought anything from WorksWell.  Speeder 2 sets of wheels - both good.
How was their adherence to previously communicated timelines?

Around 850g. I have only one picture of it so i do not really know about their quality or at least read something specifically about that frameset.
Otherwise i consider thr yoeleo r11 as well but their turn around time is quite long

Hello Ferry, are you still satisfied with the frame?
Im currently in the market for a lighter alternative.

Did you by any chance try to replace the rubber grommet on the seatpost by any chance?

Geometry looks very similar to the r11, the seatpost cover aswell.
One difference is the tapered head tube.
(Talking about the miracle 025)
Has anyone heard anything of the frame? Looks quite interesting.

So its either a different frameset or winspace just includes a different fork.
There are pictures of the slc 2.0 being internally routed and there are a few confirmations by speeder that this is not possible with the r48, due to the fork.

Got it, I'm also on the fence about buying but my issue is debating between a rim brake or disc version. Coming from the mountain bike world all my road bikes have discs so I never got a chance to try rim brakes. With all the hills in my area I'm curios to try a light build but wondering how the rim brakes will preform on the descents.

So far my communication with Justin has been pretty good. A lead time of 2-3 months doesn't sound too bad. Unless it ends up being like SEKA where I've been waiting on my frame since April...
I want to be able to switch wheelsets so disc is my choice.
2-3 months is absolutely fine. One drawback for me is that paypal buyer protection is 180days..

See this topic: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,3597.0.html

Currently about to purchase the 48V which is the rim brake model myself along with a38mm wheelset. Pretty smooth so far, planning on using paypal.
Yeah i have also posted in that thread.
Its just an discussion, was trying to get other real buyer feedback other than RDY buying wheelsets.
But thanks!

Hello,

Im interested in the 48d.
Has anyone if you actually bought from them and can provide some info?
Like what was the experience in general, adherence to lead times, was the product satisfactory, was the geochart accurate etc?

43
Cant really add anything , but did you already get your frame? Matt or gloss and what was included? Their page is a bit vague.

Okay thanks for the info!
But paying a few months upfront is considered relatively safe?
Just curious as i havent dealt with manufacturers directly.
So currently im on the fence whether ill order direvtly or over winspace as daforce suggested

Current lead time seems to be 2-3 months and the price has not changed.
Do you think its fine to pay them right away or is it smarter to wait a bit?
