I'm jealous that your paint turned out well, I have the exact same color on my FM1002 and let me tell you, paint from Carbonda is a roll of the dice...

What was bad in your painting?

The frame is a small part of the weight.
Every gram you can save on components and wheels is what makes it light.

My CFR505(gravel) AXS Force/XX1 mullet was 200g lighter than my Canyon Ultimate CF-SLX with SRAM red at 7.1kg

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Lefty Fork on Carbonda FM936

I tried this few years ago on another frame.
Coming from a second hand Cannondale, I was convinced it was the only good fork in the world.
The components to put a lefty on a non Cannondale frame were a bit ugly.
You can't maintain a Lefty yourself, unless you invest in very specific and expensive tools.
Make it maintained by a specialist you may find around you is also very expensive.
And you can't temporarily replace your front wheel easily if you break it on a trip or a race.

I then moved to a SID 100mm on that frame.
And now I'm very happy of the SID Ultimate 120mm on my FM936.

WHats the lowest distance the seat post will drop down? from the top of the frame to the rail of the saddle. I am trying to figure  out what the largest frame I can fit as I got short legs and long torso. I am thinking a 54. but I would like to confirm.
As long as the post is 10cm inside the frame, you can cut it if too long, with a metal saw.

Thanks.  Guess I'll see what the damage is when the time comes.  Build day is gonna be delayed a bit anyway as bike-componentsDE continue to descend from the best bike e-tailer of the 00s and early 10s into the worst bike e-tailer in DE of the 20s ... took them nearly 2 weeks of fuck ups and general SNAFUs to finally dispatch the stuff that I ordered - which was in stock.

It may be just bad luck or a logistic change on their side.
I ordered often from them this year without any issue.
They even sped up the delivery to Belgium, 2 days instead of 3-4.

...They finally accepted it wasn't ideal and would pass on the advice to the painters for future improvement ... lol.
Do you know how branded frame are mounted with this ?
So we could tell them more precisely what needs to be done.

I'm on a  PC and can't see any videos nor links, just big blank spaces
On a Mac with Firefox all 3! 8) videos are visible

... I like the T47 bb (my main draw to this frame) but not sure if I like the overall look. It does solve press fit BB issues by use of T47 though, which is a rarity in Chinese frames.

What for you are  the main advantages of the T47 over a BSA?
I hope the seatstays/top tube junction(similar to Carbonda 707) doesn't become a trend.

Looks legit. I usually layer my AliEx payments with multiple layers of protection and so far all my orders have worked out fine.

Interesting! Do you mind to elaborate on this?

...I've been happy using the ultra lightweight cassettes from AliExpress...

Which ones did you try? From ZTTO?

... I use the top cap with the 4 holes and routed everything externally from there on out...
By any chance. Do you have a picture when mounted?

carbonazza, could you measure the actual chainstay length please? It clamed to be 425, but does it really so short?
Not at home for the week but will do

I prefer rims UST or no hole(but the valve)
It is a bit fiddly to pass the nipples+spoke-bit with a magnet when you build a wheel or replace a spoke.
But after a wheel or two it becomes natural.
There is no tape peeling risk when changing a tire, no leaks, easy to clean.
I didn't make a weight difference: more carbon(because no hole) vs holes+tape.

The Conti GP5000 is what put me off of tubeless for good. It was near impossible to mount...

The new GP5000S is very easy to mount compared to the older one. And lighter.
I did put a pair in May and they are at their end of life now. And no puncture in thousands km.
When inspecting the tire recently, it has micro-cuts every cm or two that are apparently sealed (Orange Seal Regular).

And here finally my report on the two builds based on this frame.

First the frame quality. As you can see in the pictures.
The finish is so so... But ok, it is a relatively cheap frame.

The top and bottom headset cups were, how to say that... kind of rough?
And a quick look inside show wrinkles and carbon sheets going out everywhere.
Glad everything is closed now, so it does not exist anymore  ::)

Then comes a funny thing about the brakes.
This is XT brakes, quite standard.
At the rear, there is a fillet between the seatstay and chainstay that prevents the caliper to move outward as it should to avoid disc rub.
File the carbon fillet was probably not a good idea, so... yeah... file the caliper  ???
When asked, Tideace confirmed me this was the... solution  :o
And since we are at it, face the mounts maybe be necessary...

And finally the crank. It is BB92, which in itself is a bad news, but ok.
The frame is apparently designed for the Shimano's wide chainline of 56.5mm. Is this for DH ?
Thanks Tideace for not advertising it as such !

With a normal XT crankset, or SRAM a 32T ring will touch the chainstay...
So I did put a 2.5mm shim on the drive side to push the ring a bit outward.
The chainring clearance is bad but i got a 52.5/53mm chainline which is not ideal but ok.
I asked them some clarifications about this, but got you know... the typical non-answers, so classical when us indelicate occidental folks try to know why things do not work as we expect.
I may ignore an important thing about the Shimano 56.5mm chainline, but I can't understand how a 12sp cassette would work correctly with such chainline.

The FM-009 was a very nice frame, I'm less impressed by this one unfortunately.
