Component Deals & Selection / Re: Dt swiss x12 and the ip256 frame

He mentions the x12...I am assuming that means the syntace x12 style which won't work here as these use shimano e-thru style
dtswiss makes both versions.

Today i got my hands on a new wheelset. Sorry guys no chinese carbon:

ZTR crest 29" no tubes, RaRa 2.25 with DT SWISS 240s hubs, dt swiss competition spokes and nipples. ( black)

The reason why i choose for this set is that i had the opportunity to get it at a rear good price. Maybe upgrading the set with a couple of carbon rims in the future, but for now, these are my best new friends..

Set need to be converted to xx1 freehub and 142x12 TA at the rear. Does somebody have experience with converting a hub into 142x12?

Those are good rims for XC....28 hole if you aren't hard on them....32 if you tend to a little AM
Your hub choice is great...you should have a great lightweight wheelset.
Can you tell us the spoke count and weight of your wheelset?
Finally, no apologies - this is YOUR bike.

You can't get a 21" frame?
A thread by WorkingHPRs got a 21"
see:  http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,315.0.html

A frame size up from 21"  is not possible with a Chinese carbon frame.
I did a lot of measurements and 120mm should be the right length, i have a tall upper body and like to sit deep. ( correct english?)

I think that weight is for a 26"
Here is a quote from Singletracks:  http://www.singletracks.com/blog/mtb-gear/kenda-small-block-eight-tire-review/
"Each tire weighs a respectable 520g (26 x 2.1) which means they aren’t super light but the upside is they are mega durable and stable at high speeds."

I think the main bikes sold in the 26" size are long travel.
My brother has many bikes...all 29" except his 'jump' bike, a Specialized Enduro, which is a 26"

Component Deals & Selection / Re: XT brakes and XTR

With the good exchange rate and Merlin still offering 10% off on XTR
You can get the XTR 987 brakes for under $300.00...about 290.00 currently
They are the same as the new M9000 except for the ceramic piston

That is quite a long stem  - 120mm
Should you have gone up a frame size?
Awesome weight for that pair of pieces(much heavier in the past)
Will be interesting to see your build with the integrated stem/handlebar.

You could save 100.00 + on your wheels and get a lighter set in the process.

Did I see correctly that your integrated handlebar is only 206gr? and it is 660cm wide?
What is the length of stem?
In the past those were quite a bit heavier.

I am interested in hearing about the Next SL crank...if not for price, I would get one in a heartbeat.
Not sure of your goal, but if WW -- you could lose 1/2 lb + still
What spokes are you going with? - depending on that, you could have a 1400g wheelset there...and I like going with 32 hole for more strength on lighter rim..(depending on riding isn't necessary though)
Are you going with any color or design...I personally like the 'murdered out' look.

Are you shooting for lightweight, durable or what?
And, what type of riding?
That would help also.

Flat or riser would be a 'feel' or individual choice.
Since they are pretty cheap, some have bought both to see which they prefer.
Looking on Alibaba, you will find multiple handlebar groups(brand imitation to) that are pretty cheap.

Others, suggest an extra derailleur hanger also.

Follow on question would be for Vipassana, do you find that the new one stays on better.
It seems a couple of people have lost the nut of their iPlay thru-axle.

Can you post the weight of one also?
