SLC3 owners are there?
I would like to find some SLC3 owners who will honestly express their impressions of this frame, perhaps comparing it with others they have ridden.

Also I would love to hear comments on ride quality and comfort of this frame and any problems encountered during assembly and or riding it.

In your opinion, if you have to buy all the components, is it worth it to assemble a bike with a ‘premium’ Chinese frame (Winspace, Workswell, Yoeleo, Hong Fu, etc.), or is it better to buy a complete bike from the usual market leaders (Giant, Merida, Orbea, etc.), relying also on the added value of direct support from your local dealer?

The best alternatives with the same geometry and features would probably be the Orbea Orca OMX and the Giant TCR Pro, both of which I would have dealers close to home.

At the end of the day, with the same components, the Orca and the TCR would cost around 1500 euros more.

Frame weight is not the deciding factor, geometry, ride quality and comfort are.

Thank you in advance.

The sl8 is not exactly like the slc. The sl8 has a narrower bottom bracket at 68mm while the slc bottom bracket is 86mm. So pedal efficiency should be higher, although I doubt that the sl8 is a noodle.

I agree

I wonder if the SLC 3.0 can be as fast as an aero bike. They compared it to the SL8 and say that it is almost as stiff as the SL8 but reviews say that It does not transfer power correctly.

I would also like to read/see the review that you mentioned, could you please post the link?

I am 55 years old and overweight, I ride slowly uphill, on climbs from 9% upwards I use 34/28 at a very low cadence, 65rpm, do you think I could benefit from using shorter cranksets?

When you installed the shorter cranks, did you keep the same chainring or did you insert chainring with 1 or 2 extra tooth?

Everyone keeps saying these alloy axles will break, but I've been using three 7075 T6 24mm alloy axle carbon cranksets and they work just fine. I haven't seen any photos from any of the more recent Riro/Racework axles breaking. If someone weighs upwards of 90kg plus are worried about snapping axles, flexy bike frames, stress on carbon wheels, etc., well that's a big boy problem. I wouldn't even be looking at weight weenie parts whatsoever.

Thank you very much.
The first link don't work.
Yes Im looking for a cheap alternative.
I don't want remove/replace the BB.
I have seen this crankset, although reading the comments of the owners there seems to be a problem with the spindle/axle that seems to be a little longer than the Shimano's, it should be necessary to install a spacer.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Advice for new crankset.
« on: December 09, 2024, 07:02:20 AM »

Hello everyone, I am asking you for advice to choose a new crankset, I would like to try shorter cranks than the current ones, not to imitate the pros, but just because I am 55 years old and I understand that using shorter cranks allows less stress on the joints, being an experiment I would like to avoid spending large sums of money, currently I use a Shimano FC-R8000 crankset and a BB-Right bottom bracket, can you suggest me some model that meets these specs? I do not care that it is particularly light, but that it is robust and reliable.
Thanks in advance to anyone who would like to contribute.

So I've finally completed the build of the frame I bought from @trilobites

I'm switching from a Factor o2 2018 RB with 8050 Di2 and so far after a few hundred k's the main difference is the stiffness in between both frame's rear triangle has the o2 was much more lively and felt alive when climbing out of the saddle however it looks like the power delivery is a bit better on the speeder.

I will report back after a month or two on the bike for a clear review.

Speeder SC-R48D 490
Sram AXS Rival RD/Force FD/Rival Shifters
Ali Shimano 12 Speed 11/32 cassette & Chain
Shimano R8000 52/36 crankset
Speeder 45mm wheels with Chosen Hub - 1460G with Tape.
Prologo Dimension NDR Nack / Elita One Seatpost
Fasterway 380mm aero handlebars
Kalloy Uno 100mm
Favero Assioma

I look forward to reading your review.

Please, I'd like to know what is your saddle height? I'm in trouble about the size 490 vs 520. Thank you very much.

Hi guys,

Here is my R52D. After 3 months, the frame arrived well packaged, no missing parts. The finish, build quality and tolerances are great, BB and disc brake mounts are faced, head tube well finished, the paint job is excellent with no excess in the BB, disc mounts and head tube areas. No any particular problem during the build. The frame, seat post and handlebars have marble glossy finish, and look nicer than the pictures. The size is 510, handlebar 370|85. The frame feels stiff, the seat post has good flex and is comfortable. On the other hand, the handlebars are very uncomfortably stiff, may be because they are very narrow, 370 mm with short stem, or they are just stiff. I installed GP5000, 28 mm (real width of the tire is 29.4 mm), on 21 mm internal width rim and there is 3-4 mm clearance on the chain stays, the fork has bigger clearance.
My only complaint, it is not about the frame but rather about my handlebars choice. The handling is very very nervous. I have two another bike with 400 mm handlebars and 90 mm and 100 mm stems and the handling is very different. So, I was wondering, could the 30 mm shorter handlebars impact that much the handling? I'd like to ask the other frame owners how they feel the handling of their bikes.

WOW !!!
Which is your saddle height?

Just finished my build using leftover parts from my 2021 Trek Checkpoint (I had a full GRX mechanical groupset and 50MM DT240 Farsports wheelset on-hand). Frameset took 3 months from payment date to get shipped and shipping itself took approximately 2 weeks to get delivered here in California. First build from the frame up, so hopefully I didn't make any egregious mistakes.

Build with a size 51 frame weighs 17.5lbs/7.9kg with Favero pedals, computer mount and bottle cages. Overall, I was impressed with the frame quality and the finishing was excellent (the BB/headset were pretty comparable to my Checkpoint's). I have 32MM GP5000s on mine which would be the max tire width I'd be comfortable running.

WOW!!!!
Please wich is your saddle height?

I have come to the conclusion that there are 2 possibilities:
the first one, Winspace and Speeder are the same factory, the second, Speeder is the supplier of Winspace, in both cases the direct sales by Speeder are helpful to sell the frame that don't have passed the QC required by the main customers.
