The oval ring on my bike is 34T and it fits without a problem!

I use it for a month now but it is very difficult to tell if there are any benefits..

It is direct mount so I have to remove the cranks to (un)install it

The XX1 rings are much easier to change thanks to the spider.

Yes I did ride with a Tune saddle for a while and it was ok but the fizik Alliante is much more comfortable so I switched back.

I use flats only when I stay on the road or want to practice something.

I am also working on my brakes, I am going to replace my Ashima rotors by Shimano's hoping to get better brake power and more even brakepad wear:

I fitted fatter tires:
Dirt wizards 29x3.0 in front fits my Reba only just
RaR 2.35 in the back fits only just

I am a bit slower on the road but the wider tires are very nice on the trails I ride which have a lot of dry sand in summer.
The 3.0 front is very nice, gives me some confidence where needed and the 2.35 back is nice in the sandy climbs.

I ordered a Rock Shox Reverb Stealth, more about that in a week!

I have a 19" 256 with 142x12mm thru axle and I have no spacers under the caliper.
I already used a flat file very lightly just to flatten the post mount pods...

I don't have an LBS but I guess this tool is too expensive to buy for single use...

I could go to a 180 rotor and sand down the adapter, not as risky as filing the frame.

I have xtr race brakes on my 256SL with 160 Ashima rotors.
This is what happens to my brakepads in the back:
I measured my rotors and they are 160 mm , what can I do about this?

I wonder if they will come with adaptors for the new Boost standard...

This frame is Through Axle 12x148mm, I wonder if I can use my 12x142 wheels with a Novatec D772 hub with some sort of an adaptor?

I am looking for a hard tail frame with a slack head tube and long top tube with short chain stays.

Think Niner in geo... This will have a 120mm SID fork and 1x10. With beefy 2.4 tires. Light, all mountain hard tail is what I am looking for.

What about this one ?

Peter said on mtbr that tire clearance was 2.35

If this is true I want one!

That is about the same space as on my 256.
I have got a Schwalbe Racing Ralph 2.25 on a 30mm ID rim in there, anything bigger doesn't fit.

Has the IP-036 more space for a bigger tire?

And what size tire will fit in the frame?

My 256 is still doing very wel I shaved off a few grams with 2 Extralite axles:

The rear axle is a little bit to short unfortunately, probablybecause  the Iplay dropouts are quite thick but I will keep an eye on it.

I want to get it even lighter , any suggestions?

My stem /handlebar combo weighs 310 gr...I weigh about 83 kg and only do xc ,no drops no jumps so I don't need AM.
