Are you sure the seat post clamp/wedge isn't fully unscrewed? I would just keep doing small taps with a rubber mallet until it comes out.

its removed... just carbon on carbon

I been enjoying the heck out of my catrike 700. So I am finally getting around to my vb-218 build finally.

I found a big issue... The front derailleur hanger was not correctly affixed to the frame... It wasn't shifting even before I put a chain on for the first time.  I havent even rode it! I noticed the front detailler was loose. and the rivets weren't properly installed. also there was a lack of epoxy as well. So I set out to fix that.  Drilled out the rivets. Make sure you tape around the area to prevent scratching the paint. I didn't do that. there are a few scratches... grrr.

So I masked out the area  to sand that the epoxy was going to touch to  improve adhesion. I then used 1000 grit I should have used like 380 or 250 grit... I ended up also using a hobby file to get those rough spots like I would get with 250 grit.  Just use 250... maybe even 180. If you hit carbon thats too far. its easy to go right through the carbon.

While sanding away... you will have some feathering because of the height in the tape. see pic. Now just some IP alcohol to remove any oils  and improve adhesion.

Once you prepped it, You are all ready to for the epoxy.  I also sanded and used the file on the  derailed hanger. I pre inserted 2 rivets for alinement... only thing to do is mix the epoxy and slap some on.... then put the two rivets in the holes on the frame...

Put  the derailleur hanger on the frame with the two rivets to use as a placement guide and insert the remaining rivets before  you actually set them.

DO NOT use the rivet gun til all the rivets are placed!!!!

Once all of the rivets are the holes THEN use the rivet gun to set them.  then wipe away the extra epoxy that squeezes out with paper towels. wait about 18 hr if you have the 5 min epoxy. I am waiting a few days to make sure it has hardened before I install the derailleur.

BTW if you have any questions. please ask away.

I am finally putting my vb-218 build together  and besides having to redo the front hanger because of bad rivets and no epoxy....(I swear this is the most pain in the butt build...)

Any way I was testing out seat height.. well its slipped down a 1cm and is now stuck...  to be honest It was mostly in there already because of my short legs. and long torso and xl frame(only way I can fit bikes) biggest reach/ top tube for long torso and arms and a slammed seat post for my short legs... now its too slammed!

Any ways How do I get it out??? I tried a soft rubber mallet and pulling and twisting... its just slightly moving forward and back like 0.5 to 1 mm..

what other tricks can I try?

So, after roughly 40.000 shifts of flawless performance, my groupset is finally showing issues: I'm experiencing battery drain. I came home from a vacation trip and the bike was stored on the wall for a week. The RD was dead because the battery was fully drained. I recharged it to 100%, went out on a 90min ride and it was down to 82%. After leaving the bike for another day it's now at 59%.

Has anybody with these kinds of issues found a cause and/or solution? The batteries have given me zero trouble so far. I doubt that that's what's causing the problem. I'm gonna clean the plugs and connectors and weatherproof them and see if that does anything.

have you tried replacing the batteries...  they can get weak and break down from constant drain... Kinda like phone batteries dont last as long as they used too after a year or more.

Frame arrived, 3 weeks from order to delivery with custom colour.
All the component were well protected and the paint job is ok.
All small parts included (ex. Garmin mount support)
The only part exposed was the derailleur ha ger that is now bent.
Anyone know if the Pinarello f derailleur hanger is compatible with vbr 218 frame?
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out!

cant have that bumpy normal air.... also these arnt tubeless....

I was reading that tubeless sealant might contaminate the pure nitrogen, so you won't really benefit from the longevity it'll provide from pressure loss. There's also the possibility the sealant won't react properly sealing punctures since there's less oxygen in the tires. Though I'm no chemist, so for all I know everything I read was just BS and it'll work great!

Though if you can get free nitrogen at Costco and the container only cost like $35 USD, I'd get it as a cheap way to have pressurized gas for beading tires. I'm too cheap to get a compressor so I usually just bead my tires at the gas station pump.

Omg  "tubeless sealant might contaminate the pure nitrogen thats rich"... the air we breathe is 78% nitrogen.

as for "There's also the possibility the sealant won't react properly sealing punctures since there's less oxygen in the tires." That sounds more likely but there is the outside o2 that causes hardening. Sealant actually has lil fibers that form the structure of the patch. and then hardens.

One way to fix this is "set" your seatant with normal o2 and then after a ride of 2 switch to nitrogen... Because then its already ready. but then it does then leak out the tire... so who knows.. I would think if you set it it would be fine... but I wouldn't do it.... maybe if I was top athlete in the world trying for any edge... but day to day riding its silly.

I have some new Continental Grand Prix 4 Bicycle Tyres for my bike build thats not even complete... and they appear to be out of round...

what could be the cause???

Is it the fact they are new or that I used cheaper tubes?

I want to enjoy my bike when its finished.

Oh thats an option....well I was looking at making it in brass of something. I would to need to re do that design to make it better.

I was also looking at these as an insert... https://www.amazon.com/Saiper-Bicycle-Housing-Ferrules-Derailleur/dp/B082YBN86J

I was also hoping vb gets back to the email I sent them too.
