Originally bought the balugoe arm rests and they are short in terms of fitment stop 3/4 way down arm towards elbow.
Wel you buy cheap you buy twice  so bit the bullet and got Winow 390mm mechanical arm rests (gloss) with 15 deg adapter.
Kitty was very helpful tbh.

looking forward to setting them up when they arrive.
Boardman Elite Air TT with 10speed SRAM Rival TT mechanical 1 x setup(oldie but a goodie like myself).
58T with 11-32 on back.

Just recovering from a broken fibula from CX nationals in january in time for TT season in Apr/May.

anyone know typical shipping time?
ordered end of march and AE stating delivery june 7???

I go with Elitewheels for positive review online in different blog, forums, website

same as this
I have three sets of elites as took a calculated risk on AE over 5 years ago - bog standard rim brake set 50mm for road bike- faultless  and only fix since then was freehub bearing required update.
since then i got a TT set (88 & full carbon disk - rim brake) and a gravel set (35mm disk).

I would buy  from official AE store in the morning if i needed(wanted) another set.

bulletproof wheels - not the lightest or heaviest but in between.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: 1 x 12 Sram TT Setup
« on: March 02, 2025, 08:25:21 AM »
hi guys,
the new triathon season has started and i will work on my workswell tt frame over the winter (painting, electric hydration tank system :-)
i also want to change from durace to sram:
blips for the front and RD from axs..

I usually race kind of flat courses: olympic distance racepace about 40 to 41 km

Is there anybody already running a 1 x 12 system on a tt bike?
Any suggestions welcome (regarding crank-chainring setups from China)

I have an ftp 250w and ave cadence of 90rpm for TT. I am 90Kg and 179cm.
I use magene p505 165mm base cranks(panda podium) with 56 or 58T(pass quest 1x narrow/wide) (course dependent) coupled with 11-32 rear cassette.
just got to get out and push the gear and get used to doing it on inclines.
best of luck and welcome to the pain!

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: TT-Bike Budget Build
« on: March 02, 2025, 08:18:12 AM »
Hey Team-ChinerTown,

You guys inspired me to build my own TT bike! I’ve already found some posts about builds here in the forum and just signed up to start my own thread. I’m just starting to look for parts and haven’t ordered the frame yet. I’m planning to go with a SRAM Blips setup and have already bought a Force AXS rear and front derailleur. I also got a SRAM Force D2 Powermeter (left crank)—but that’s all so far.

I’ve checked out different frames and looked into brands like Winow Sports, Tantan, ICAN, Velobuild, Falco, BXT, LightCarbon, and Mira. I’m still waiting for some replies, but I’ve already received a few offers. My goal is to find the cheapest frame with the best value for money. I like the VeloBuild VB-TT-023, but so far, the BXT-TT-119 for $860 seems to be the most affordable option. I plan to order the frame and wheelset next week.

Right now, I have some questions for you guys:

    1. Did I miss any frames that might be better/cheaper?
    a. Are there any upcoming sales or possible discounts I should watch out for?

    2. I’m considering mechanical disc brakes to save costs compared to hydraulic. Are there specific levers for mechanical disc brakes, or anything I should be aware            of?

   3. I already have a SRAM Force D2 Powermeter (left crank). Are there any budget-friendly crankset options? I’m planning to use a 52/36T chainring but I’m not too familiar with SRAM compatibility. Would this one from AliExpress fit and be compatible with the Powermeter? Aliepress = https://tinyurl.com/3tuj9wuf
4.   Aero bar extensions, the standard ones are good enough or should I go with ergonomic/aero ones?
5.   Do you have any other advise for me?

I will update the list with parts from my build as soon as I ordered some stuff.
Would be amazing if you can give me some feedback regarding my questions or in general.

Thank you for your help!

I am thinking of the same in the future
I would try these- https://www.riderever.com/product/5/17/28
paired with Sram rival axs and blips.
still on fence about frame as i try and do UCI nationals and gran fondo TTs - unless i can get one that is very close to original and slap a UCI sticker on it!

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Best TPU tube brand
« on: March 02, 2025, 08:10:51 AM »
I've been using a pair of RideNow 24g TPU tubes with clear plastic valve stems in a pair of 28c tyres. They've been great, they hold air really well. Note that they're only designed for max 28c tyres.

On another bike I use the RideNow all-road tubes with clear plastic valve stems - the 39g ones for 28c-38c tyres. Same great experience with these.

Previously I used the Offbondage 40g tubes with black&silver coloured valve stems, again no issues.

The only TPU tubes I've had issues with are:

ridenow older gravel tubes are useless
paired with maxxis rambler tyres and adequate pressure for my 90kg frame
puncture every ride- must have 6/7 tubes in shed waiting to be repaired.
    road they are fine!

    • Older RideNow tubes with black plastic valve stems.
    • Older Cyclami tubes with threaded metal valve stems.

I've gone down this route for my VB TT-23 build (not built just yet). Gone with:

SRAM Force Rear Mech (36tooth max)
11-34 Shimano Cassette
Dura Ace Crankset w/ 56t Pass Quest 1x Chainring
RideRever Trivia Hydraulic TT Brakes
2 sets of 2 AXS Wireless Blips (1 set on Bar Ends and 1 on the Brake Levers)

Most of the TTing and Tri's I do are flat-ish or enough to get by on a 1x chainring. When I need to I will simple buy a SRAM Red FD and double chainring. Went for the Dura Ace Crankset because its quite light. Hoping its all compatible...

hi how you find those brakes?
very affordable set @158 £GBP on ebay.co.uk

Sales & Classifieds / Balugoe carbon TT arm rests
« on: February 25, 2025, 08:01:18 AM »
Hi All,

bought arm rests (321mm) but prefer full arm held in position from hands to elbow(350mm+) so these are new and unused.
Balugoe full carbon TT arm rests for time trial or triathlon.
Brand new, not fitted & comes with screws and fittings.
Can be used for mechanical and electronic shifting.

These are 321mm long overall from top of handle to pad and 240mm approx max from wrist to back of pad.
These come up short for me.
Would suit younger rider or shorter forearms than me.
For reference I am 290mm from wrist to elbow.
These would support me towards end of forearm but ideally looking for another 50mm ,so selling them on at cost price.

Collection preferred but will post for extra fee.
asking cost price - or mates rates on CT.
Based in EU.
PM for postage quote etc

thanks
J

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: TT/Tri groupset options?
« on: February 25, 2025, 06:27:37 AM »
You'd need charger and batteries too. I bought 2nd party batteries and charger for much cheaper than original price. Overall conversion to:
Sram Rival RD (up to 36T)
Chain (YBN Shimano style)
Cassette (12 speed Shimano style HG-compatible)
Blips (1 set)
Cradles (Leap)
Chainring (Pass Quest)
Costs me less than 400 USD. I would say it's totally worth it and probably cheapest and cleanest way you could upgrade your TT bike.

thanks for this
could you link the battery and charger option for above?
please and thanks
this is why CT is a great forum.
might even buy the new ICAN TT frame in future as it ticks all the boxes for me.
https://www.icanbikes.com/Products-list/carbon-tt-bike-frame/

non uci though!
unless it looks like another UCI approved frame etc :)

cheapest way to get sram 1x on TT bike?
buy rear D and blips?
everything would need to move up to 12 speed no doubt,
thanks
