Fair enough. As for the SL7—well, the SL8 is noticeably more comfortable to ride, so in that respect, you could say the X68 has more in common with the SL7.

Like I said, it’s a good frame so far. I’m actually surprised—surprised enough that it made me raise an eyebrow!
But let’s be clear: it’s not an SL8. The SL8 offers a smoother, more refined ride, as I’ve mentioned. I’m no expert, but even doing something as basic as the tap test on the down tube and top tube, they sound different. Not very scientific, I know, but it says something.

In terms of stiffness, the X68 is right up there—even the bars feel solid. This bike is definitely planted, not a noodle.

Five years ago, I wouldn’t have gone near a copy or fake frame, but they’ve come a long way—very close now.
It’s a bit like the 1:1 Rolex clones—experts now need loupes and specialised equipment just to spot the fakes. That’s how close these frames are getting. Manufacturers will have to step up to stay ahead.

I wonder what the difference will be between a Pro frame and an X68.

Picture of a counterfeit, heard it's stiff corners well and was an easy build. Not much difference with these tantans.

Yohobike? It looks exactly like Seraph, I think they both use the same mold to put together their bikes.

I rode the SL8 yesterday using the same wheels — it’s the only set I have at the moment.
As I mentioned, the SL8 feels more refined and smoother, which is clearly down to the carbon layup. It definitely has an edge, though whether that edge is worth the extra £4,000+ is debatable.

That said, it was only a single 50 km ride, so I’ll need a few more rides over the next few weeks to really see how it holds up.

This is just my personal opinion — I’m just one guy, not an expert if people want to listen and it helps great.

The X68, it’s a good frame however people have had quality problems and that fork issue was not good but I will obviously keep a close eye on
If TanTan (or whoever actually makes it) put a bit more time and care into the quality and finish, I’d happily pay an extra $150–$200 myself.

It's true that they have some very silly quality flaws. The transition spacer is a problem because you don't discover it until you have the handlebars tightened to the correct torque. Vivian's response was, buy another one; any original one will fit.

I feel the frame is in good shape; it's very rigid in the front, and the rear absorbs bumps well. I expect the original frame to be several times superior.

Beware of yohobike or rocking cycling store of Aliexpress, before the sale they are very nice and attentive sellers, but then it becomes hell.

It is impossible to contact them, communication between seller and buyer disappears, and they can only lie.

In my case, to sell me a frame they started saying that in three days it would be painted, a week I decided to pay an extra and keep a frame in stock that they send in 48 hours, And two weeks later, I'm still waiting for an answer.

Before considering sizing down the frame, it might be worth checking a few setup-related things first. One common cause of numb hands is shifter/hood positioning - if they're angled too far upwards, it can put your wrists in an early position and lead to pressure/numbness. Try rotating them slightly down so your wrists stay in a more neutral position when on the hoods.

Bar width and reach/stem length can also be factors. A shorter or more upright setup can help reduce pressure on the hands. You could also look into padded bar tape or even gloves with better cushioning if you're not already using them.

A smaller frame might help if you're really stretched out, but I'd tweak the cockpit setup first - it's usually a quicker and cheaper fix.

Hope that helps!

I tried my best, I have 90mm power, a difference in height between handlebars and saddles of only 6cm, I was still very stretched on the bike.
I take this opportunity to announce that I sell a Tantan X68 size 56 with only 2000 km at a good price.  8)

Hey Davidhe23

What do you mean:

The reasons for the change are that I missed the size and on many occasions my hands fall asleep?
You getting a larger frame or something?

Sander, I'm sorry for my English, but I use a translator.
I currently have an x68 in size 56, with 90mm stem, but during travel my hands usually become numb.
With my height of 178cm and 74cm of leg I think the best option is to move to a size 54.
I contacted Vivian, but the waiting times already know that they are currently insane, so I have decided to do a test requesting the frame from yohobike who have a frame of my size in stock.
It can be interesting to make the comparison between the two brands, although I firmly believe that both are the same bike.

I must update the thread with news. After about 3 months and more than 2000km with my x68 I have decided to buy a fake in yohobikes.
The reasons for the change are that I missed the size and on many occasions my hands fall asleep.
I can't put one It sticks to Tantan's frame, but I think Yohobike's frame will be exactly the same.
I decided to opt for yohobike as Vivian gives too long deadlines, and yoho had a framework in stock. It can be interesting to compare the two frames.

In France some donkey in the government decided that grades were racist or transphobe, so schools now give coloured stickers to students, as if they were delayed, instead of grades.

I have the same faith in these QC stickers on frames.

My frame doesn't even bring those stickers, I feel like every time I ride it I'm risking my life, even though it's a really nice frame to drive.

9
One question guys, everyone. QC Pass stickers are included in your frames?

Initial Impressions - Frame Side by Side

Side-by-side, the frame looks identical to the genuine article.

Finish is generally okay, though I did notice a few minor ripples in the surface. BB and thru-axle threads had a bit of overspray - nothing major or that would cause issues.

Second post life without any problems.

One small hiccup: When I reinserted the rear thru-axle, the washer was stuck on the frame. For a moment, I thought it was bonded in. Looks like they fitted it shortly after painting, so it had stuck slightly. A quick flick with a knife sorted it.

The gloss UD finish looks great in my opinion, and I think it'll look even better once it's built up.

Like others, I checked inside the head tube, BB shell, and seat tube. Everything looks tidy - obviously that doesn't guarantee anything structurally, but it's clean and well-finished inside.

Fork came in at 399g uncut, and the frame is 788g (no hardware). I've got some Kern scales arriving soon, so I'll post a more accurate weight when I get them. For reference, my genuine frame weighs 701g.

Is the frame size 54?

Ok the bloody thing has finally arrived!
A few photos sorry there not more organised but did not have much time this evening.
Comments it looks exactly the same.
Head tube is not taller before anyone asks its way I'm holding the phone.
Roval bar I need to look at it's not 100% no groove for head cap to sit onto for a nice flat transition and no textured surface on top.
The tops look wider where the stem meets but have to get the calipers on it.
Waiting for some new scales
But frame was 798G, no hardware.
Forks Uncut 399G
But it will check with better quality scales when they arrive.
First impression well I could have saved £5000k!!

wow, it looks amazing, that raw finish is very nice. Hopefully in the performance comparison it will be a bit similar to the original, after 1500 km I feel it as the stiffest bike I have ever tested, and fast. the other day on a long descent I was able to overtake to my group of cyclists at more than 80km/h. It was amazing to see how people were overtaking without having to use the pedals

13
Now the handlebars have the points just like the original rock, and the shift leg uses a different screw

14
I think they've changed details in the latest model they've posted on their Instagram.
