Thanks for the insights Serge. I decided to order the 50 deep, 33 wide rim with house bearings and pillar 1420 spokes. Peter has been quick to reply to my questions on WhatsApp. I’ll post an update after receiving the wheels.

Hi everyone,

As I'm a bit green in the topic, I have a question. What considerations should one have in deciding between the T800 (regular) version of the rim, versus the new T1100 which Peter mentioned they're releasing this week?
It's surely nice to shave some grams off, but other than the weight aspect, should I expect a difference in riding experience or, most importantly, durability? What's your take on this new, lighter rim, paired with steel spokes?

Alright, I'll send him a message, the contact details popped up in some threads here. Thanks :)

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Carbon wheelset recommendation

Hi!

I'd like to pick your minds to help me choose a wheel set to buy for my road endurance bike.
I'd like to pair it with Conti GP5000 32c tires, and it seems that if I want the aero benefits, the market doesn't offer too many choices - I didn't see many wheels with 34+ external width. Therefore I consider going narrower with the tires, down to 30mm, if it helps.
The preferred depth is 45-50mm, same for front and rear.
Weight isn't of highest importance, but of course the lighter, the better.

I'm not racing right now, but I am considering participating in long distance events with some gravel sections. I'd estimate maybe 80/20 road to gravel ratio overall, as my weekly rides also tend to venture into some light gravel.

Budget is around 900$ with shipping to EU. If there are cheaper options, happy to consider them of course. If something is slightly above, I will also give it a thought.
I am happy to wait for 11/11 or Black Friday if it's worth it.

Thank you for any suggestions!  :)
