Carbonda finally got back to me.  They say they hope to see the XL frames by July but earliest is July.

I have had my 068 for just over a year now, love the bike, only issue I had with it was a slipping seat post. Tried everything to stop it from carbon paste, sandpaper, toothpaste, sanding the post up a bit, until eventually I just glued it with gorilla glue. Hasn't moved since :D other than that one issue the bike is perfect. And I'm around 210lbs so no lightweight either.

I think most of these aero bikes with that fucking horrible aero seatpost slip.  My Tideace slip, i wrap it with a piece of tubeless rim tape then a bunch of carbon paste and usually lasts a couple of weeks.  I can't imagine we're gaining that many watts from the earo post,  i'd rather have a regular post.  When  I buy a new frame that will be a chief concern.

2 michaeldepeza:
I see pic of RxR chinese wheelset even though it's not on the list. So, DON'T. EVAR.
Used this 29" shit on my carbon rigid mtb to run roads,

If you're going to use Chinese wheelsets get a decent set from light-bicycle , or ican or yoleo or nextie.  I have light bicycle built wheels on XC bike, Road bike and Gravel bike, they are very well built very strong wheels, but they cost about 700-900 a set .  My XC are hope pro2 evo hubs and dt swiss spokes and the road/gravel are novatect 791/792 hubs with pillar 1420 spokes.  From experience the $300-500 sets are sketchy as hell.

Pivot Bikes use a dw link which changes the ratios.  This bike uses a single pivot at the seatstay.  There is that usesless pivot at the hanger, i'd prefer a flexible chainstay.

I think you're getting it lost translation literally. The 122mm quoted is we assume the minimum compressed length of the shock, they call it stroke. So based on a 165 i2t this equates to a 42.5mm stroke. Ben is saying a 45mm looks feasible. So theoretically if 40mm shock strike equates to 100mm rear suspension travel then 45mm will equate to 112mm suspension travel.

Tbh I was also confused by the 122mm stroke statement in the specs but Ben's explanation makes sense and I pretty sure Ican don't use professional translators, hence lost in translation  :D

I appreciate the explanation but I think the ratio is off because 165X38 shock is 100 mm on most bikes so taking the trunnion in consideration 140 trunnion should be about 105 ,  the 142.5 should be about 112 and the 145 should be about 120.  Maybe the stroke changes that slightly but unless you're compressing the shock to get in the frame then the numbers are still skewed.  Not to mention that if it doesn't have capability to full compress the shock and bottom out then what's the point?

Unless you are a XC marathon  or xc pro,  nobody is going to notice 100,200 or 300 grams difference when you're out bombing the trails.

The specs say this frame uses a 165X40 mm shock at 122 mm of travel.  Something is amiss here.  165X40  is about 105 mm of travel.  Most of the 120 mm travel frames of this style use a 165X45 trunnion shock.

There are 2 attachments, both spreadsheets.  I'll post both

40
I thought the FM936 would only accept a 165X42.5 shock which is 115 mm of travel?

This was quoted to me today by Carbonda, this is matte frame with decals. I got a separate email with some mass buy quotes too.  Apparently there is a sale going on or discounts through May
One set of sample FM1001: US$720.00 with frame

Headset: US $12.00
Rear axle: US $15.00

Extra rear derailleur hangers: US$5.00

Shipping cost for one frame set to USA

3-10 days : US$ 230
8-10 weeks , Tax free : US$110

FM1001 is our latest product. It will launch in May this year. Now you only need to pay $100 in advance, and we will arrange shipment for you in May. In addition, I have a drawing of FM1001 here, you could have a look.

Yes, the manufacturer called Barrel bolt ,  aka sex bolts.  Mcmaster-Carr sells 70mm high tensile strength version that I'll probably buy.

This is a picture sent to me by TanTan.  I emailed them asking if I could buy a spare set of the shock mount hardware.  It costs $60.00 + $10.00 shipping for these 2 barrel bolts.  In the picture top bolt is roughly 70mm length with and 8mm diameter with an m6 screw, this bolt is actually the bottom bolt in the shock mount and the shock mounts upside down.  There are 2 14 mm spacers that go on either side of the 22X8mm shock hardware.  The bottom bolt in the picture is roughly 28mm X 8 mm with an m6 screw, and its the top mount hardware.  Top is 22 mm inside width, bottom is 50 mm inside width.  The linkage is metal, i believe aluminum.

I'm 6'4.  I rode a XL  on the scott and this bike fits perfect.  I have an 80mm stem and just changed fork to 120mm ST Suntour Axon that is 46 mm offset and its pretty plus.  With the FOX DPS evol shock its hard to tell its only 100mm at rear end.  All my bikes are XL
