Carbonal Titan?
« on: May 06, 2014, 10:04:23 PM »
I've seen this frame on the forums quite a few times now but generally havn't paid it as much attention as I have the IP-036. Partially because I was mostly in the market for a hardtail, and partially because I have a bit of loyalty to Peter at Iplay due to the excellent service, product quality, and communication that I received from them.

That said, this frame looks pretty frkn sweet. I really like the way the top tube is shaped. Has a very stealth jet fighter look to it imo. What do you guys think? Anyone know what the travel is? How similar it is to the 036?

Love this Chiner.. Comes in at a scant 21.7 pounds. That's nuts for a full suspension 29er. Gotta love that carbon lefty.

The Titan looks like a good frame, the main pivot is just slightly different (swings from below the TT instead of on the TT), it also looks like the Titan would be a bit stronger but possibly heavier than my IP-036.  The one thing it's missing for me is 12x142 drop outs.

Ahhh.. yes, that basically kills it for me as well. Thanks for pointing that out.

I've only seen a few, but that was on the mtbr thread. I couldn't tell you exactly where on the thread they were but I'm pretty sure it was towards the end of it. Sorry, I guess that's not much help. Haven't see a Chinertown build thread utilizing that frame yet, but would be nice if somebody got one going. I also really like that frame.

What kills it for me is Peter at XMIplay.com doesn't sell it.  That guy has always taken great care of me and I'll always do my business with him.  He's got great service, great prices and great attitude.
