Wheels - I wanted another set of the Ultegra wheels that I currently have.  But that deal is gone!  Could not find them for less that 4-500.00.  Will keep looking for a deal on the Ultegras, but last night (July3rd) when discussing what we were going to do with the frame, vendor offered me a good price on a wheel set...These are the ones that are aluminum and carbon.  Brake surface is aluminum.  After a bit of going back and forth, price came down to where I just agreed to buy them:

Wheels - China (Taiwan) Same vendor as the frame.  Price reflects a discount for the mistake made on the BB on the frame. Aluminum carbon road bike wheels 50mm rim matte carbon 3K with Novatec A271SB/F372SB black hubs- No decals - US$325.00



And this is what I will install to convert the incorrectly Bottom Bracket to what I need (vendor is sending an insert with an install tool to press it in, but after giving it some thought, decided to use this instead).  Takes a BB30 and allows for Shimano 24mm crank install.

Again, I will receive those, but based on feedback, using that adapter from Wheels Mfg is a better alternative.   I will save the insert sent by the vendor, and the Shimano bottom bracket that comes with the groupset, in case I ever want to go that route...

And before anyone jumps in as to how I should have pushed back on the vendor and return the frame, etc.... yeah, I get it.  But mistakes happen, not the end of the world... there is a practical solution to the problem and I am good with it.  Plus I got a fair discount on the wheels due to this.

BB30 Outboard Angular Contact BB for 24mm Cranks (Shimano) - Black - BB30-OUT-3 arrived today.  This was easier to install than I was expecting.  Always a good thing



Waiting on the rest of the parts to arrive...

Welcome to the forum!!  This is my second frame and there is another forum member, RoadClimber, that also got one.   Even with the mistake they made on the BB, I am very pleased with the frame.

When looking for an integrated handlebar, I also came across these guys...

Me, being new to all this, did not know any better.  Just went by the looks of the frame, lol.  I don't think that I can go wider than 25mm with this frame.  Maybe, if I ever build a 3rd bike, I will use something different that can accommodate wider tires.  For now I am having fun using this bike, getting back into a different shape (cause round and fat is still a shape).

Do share your build if you buy it apart instead of going turn-key.  Cheers!

I had an entry level cannondale aluminum bike b4 I got this Chinese carbon frame. The cannondale weighs in at 9.6kg. This Chinese carbon bike 7.4kg. I ride with a usual group of 6 riders for a while now. we will go 4 night rides of between 40-70km on the same route. The loop consists of about 8 climbs. I was the only 1 on aluminium while the rest were on branded carbon bikes. There's a pinarello, a cipollini, a Ridley, cannondale evo and a parlee. On my aluminium bike I could keep up with the group 4 the first 20km or so. Then I will usually get dropped by the group. I would get dropped by sometimes about 1km or so. Now 1 km might not sound like much cos if u go at 30km/h it's like only 2 mins behind the group. But visually on the road it's like the group is so far in front of me I can't even see their blinking rear lights. It's as good as a solo ride by then.
With this china bike n riding with the same group on the same loop I hv seen massive improvements. From being dropped by a km or so, I'm not only able to keep up with them but also sprint with them to the finish. The bike accelerates easily, climbs like a goat. Took half the effort to maintain speed on the flats. (33-38km/h). Closing the gap on surges required so much less effort than my precious bike. Performance wise as good as any branded n expensive bike.
Absolutely worth it.

Wahoo sensors, Shimano Ultegra Wheelset, 12-25 cassette, and seat came in.

I am not going for any specific weight on the build... but sharing just for kicks.  This seat is 167.5 grams vs 266.7 grams for the one on the first build.



Wheels with tires... these came out to be 18 grams more than first build... go figure... I thought that Michelin tire was going to be lighter (and yes, using same inner tube as in the first build).  1375 grams vs 1357 grams.  This is rear wheel, tire, inner tube, and quick release skewer.

After that, I installed the cassette and got it on the bike.



Then this also came in... groupset is here.  Swapped the cassette for the 11-32.  That way I can measure and install the chain.




Started installing a few things.  Can't work much on the front as the thin aero spacers, stem, and bars are not here to properly measure and cut the fork tube...  but I can install the crank and rear brake caliper!

Looking nice except for one thing. Putting a clamp on a carbon frame is a huge NO NO. Especially the top tube. The top tube is the weakest tube on any bike and is easily crushed. The seat post is the best option.

Clamp is loose.  But I get the point.  I will hold it by the seat post.  Thank you!

Chain installed... now I am really waiting on the rest of the parts to finish the build... can't do anything else without the stem and handlebar...
