I had the spoke issue and to overcome that I went 2-cross. This drops the spoke length under 310mm Which are easy to find. Tires are still limited to immediate availability of only the aspen. But it is a good tire. I just hate the yellow logo. Hahaha.

Have you already ridden the bike? How does it feels compared to conventional XC?

For everyone thinking about his/her n+1 could be a 32er, here's what Germany wheels manufacturer NEWMEN has to say about wheels stability:

I think going from 142 to 148 for gravel, and 28 to 32 spokes for XC will be enough.  People run the 'rope' spokes and newer Ti spokes without major issue.

I have taken it out a few time now.  personally i think it rides very close to a 29er but it does hold speed better.  i don't think the whole "erases small bumps" thing is real.  the wheels definitely get up and over things better.  it is not light years or even 50% better but it is for sure noticeable.  Overall it is a super fun wheel set.  very fast in the open sections and over rooots, handles the twisties very well and awesome up the technical stuff. Very excited for the Fox 34SL in 32"
