I see Tideace have a 32" frameset listed on aliex.

20 years ago when the industry putting out 29er, I was very resistant to it for a few years.

me too, sortof, I think my first 29er was in 2005, they'd been out for a few years, but I was still the first in my riding group to have one.

Geo seems wrong ... stack figure between 780mm and over 800mm.  Obviously a 32er will have higher stack, but not 20cm higher ...

Also, given the lack of suspension forks available yet, this is likely to be used mainly for gravel duty ... in that case 36T max is a bit of a fail.

You're reading the geo chart wrong. Those numbers, for "N" column, are Standover not Stack, which is the "L" column. BTW, Reach is "M".

Ah, you're right.  Another issue appears to be no bottle bosses on seat tube.

There should be a bottle cage mount on the seat tube, see attached picture. The available pictures seem to all be renders, so maybe they forgot to add it to those pictures...

I'm considering this frame also for a gravel(ish) use, something like a frankenmod mixed bike, on this MTB frame and big 32" wheels, with drop bars and inverted stem with a lot of negative angle, like -35 degrees ou maybe even -45 degrees, even. 

That said, I'm waiting for news on the M size frame, an availability date is yet to be announced. Also, I'm not sure if the carbon fork is already available...

Earlier this week I ordered a 32er wheelset with rear SuperBoost hub...

They are 32er MTB Asymmetry rims with 32mm inner width. It’s crazy to see them actually available with Boost spacing (110/148mm). They look absolutely massive!

I wonder if we are looking at the future of MTB or just a very niche experiment. Who knows, maybe in a few years we’ll all be riding 32-inch bikes and laughing at our 'small' 29ers, just like we did with 26ers back in the day!

Those are the wheels I ordered. The seller is very helpful and responsive, agreed to some very specific requests I made regarding my build (diferent/mismatched hubs and rim finish). Let's see how it goes with the build quality and build time, shipping, etc. I'll post my experience here after I get the wheels...


Regarding the 32er wheel , it's not for everyone (only for people above 175cm, and I think that's even optimistic, 180cm is more realistic) and definitely not for every bike type/use. It's a path that's only starting, let's see where it leads us. I'm jumping right in...

Cyclingabout made a good summary of the tests that are available at the moment. At worst, 32er is no slower than 29er, and at best, it is 3-5% faster. Rolling resistance also looks better for 32er. I sold my cyclocross/gravel bike and keep thinking what my next second most used bike should be. Hardtail 32er seems like a fresh alternative to regular XC bikes but I am a bit hesitant as there is so little parts available.

Rims and tires are the only thing that are 32er specific.  There are about 10-15 rims available via ALiexpress, velocity, Nextie, Berd, light bicycle.  Tires are limited currently to aspens but they can just be ordered at a bike shop.  Everything else is the same.  Just go one size up in front rotors and down a few teeth on the front chain ring.

True. My wheelbuilder from AliExpress said the main problem right now is to source spokes with the required size to lace 32 inch rims. He'll be using Sapim Leader which are among the few options available. Obviously, in due time, spoke manufacturers (and carbon rim manufacturers too) will adapt their offer to this upcoming need for longer spokes...

Most of those tires are still just in prototyping fase. At least in Europe, the only 32 inch tyre available, and still in ultra low quantities from a couple of retailers online that I know of, is the Maxxis Aspen 32x2.4 model...
