FS029 VS Pro-Mance M7007

Which one is best?
Are there problems with the Pro-Mance suspension bolt?
Is the FS029 heat tube angle too slack for 100mm?

How does Pro-Mance handle warranty issues compared to I.E. xmcarbonspeed where FS029 can be bought?

Other things that I have not thought about?

What about the stange inner cabling on FS029, both to rear brake (think this is solved) and rear shock lockout.

Both of them seems like really good frames, I am just trying to figure out which one to buy.

I recently completed my bike around a Pro-Mance M7007 frame for 95% and it ride like a dream. A real speed machine and very-very quiet. No issues with the hardware at all (bolts, bearings, pivots, other software or whatsoever). All components fit perfectly.

Guarantee? I have no idea how Pro-Mance handles that if something goes wrong, but the customer service I've had with them is the best I've ever experienced so far. And that includes dedicated LBS.

It seems to have been a problem with delivered suspension bolts being too thin for standard mounting shock hardware. Both Sissypants and Charlesrg had that problem. If it is solved then great news for us! :-)

Nope, just for the record the bolts are M8 in diameter and you need 22mm of spacers. You just need to get the right kit. For Fox shocks, I've linked to that on my MTBR review. It was my futs-up, not Pro-Mance's problem.

I am also considering these two frames but my concern is the tire clearance. According to Steven at Pro-Mance it is impossible to fit a 29x2.3 (or even a 29x2.25 Rocket Ron) tire when using 12x142 through axle in their frame? Anyone tested?

Is it the same with CS-FS029?

Yes, I'd actually like to know this as well if anyone can definitively answer. I'd like to know the tire limits for both of these frames.

For the M7007 (142*12) drawing say 2.1 and tire the clearance is 10.5mm on each side according to drawing.

For M7007 2 (boost) drawing show a 2.3 tire (5mm wider than 2.1) but drawing is not showing clearance.

Anyone tested with a wider tire in the M7007 frame or "know" if it is possible?

Just buy a boost frame and a conversion kit for your rear hub. Also the 142 frame is not available in T800.
I wish I would have done that.

If you are using a non boost crank and converted hub I think the chain line will be ok (someone correct me if I am wrong).

I think that you will have a hard time finding a 142 mm frame that can take wider tires.

I will can post a picture later today of my 2.1 tire clearance…

It is a tempting idea with conversion but since my carbon wheels today are 135mm QR only adapter to 12x142 are available. Otherwise I have to relace my wheel with a new hub.

I have 7mm clearance on my 2.1 Vittoria Mezcal.

You should ask for drawings of the bikes that you evaluate (rear triangle). Even if they state 2.3 the clearance might be minimal...

I asked Steven @Pro-Mance via email and he confirmed there is clearance in the M7007-II frame
