Trifox TL-CFM-S01 full Suss (New American eagle Flow)
« on: February 06, 2019, 06:39:52 AM »
I'm a little out of touch with the chinese open mould scene, had a Hongfu hardtail for many years but then picked up a few Pivot frames through a race team. I'm interested in replacing the Pivot Full suss as its just so heavy, 2650gram with hardware. I race 4, 6, 12, 24hour events mostly, with a few stage races when I can

The Trifox frame came up on aliexpress, and then looks like American eagle have picked it up as their new full suss, review https://www.fiets.nl/2019/01/30/nieuw-gezien-american-eagle-flow/

Anyone have any knowledge about them? the geometry suggest they are very slack? which is good and bad, not just a spark copy?

For me trifox chart is false, you can even see it's not the correct frame design.
I already searched about this frame and this is what i found :
https://www.edge-design.com.tw/Spec-PYTHON%20ONE%2029ER%20BOOST.html

I don't know if there is other sellers but i won't trust trifox which are unable to give the right geometry...

But who is the factory of this frame? Edge seems to be another reseller, not a factory.

I have the winow sports version

I bought the medium and its too big for me so not sure I can give the best ride experience (going to replace it with a 258 in size small soon)

Frame build quality is decent but here are a few comments
Because of the shape of the seat tube its really hard to find a suitable dropper post (virtually zero room for size error)
Also running a mech dropper cable was annoying
You can only run a 180 rotor (it was a not so good surprise as I wanted to use 160)

Did you use a 165x45 trunnion shock? And 29 inch tires?

Hi. It's me Dandy. I was banned for nothing.  ???
Handlebar was chineese 50$ copy of Syncross Fraser, can be bought in any Chinese online store like aliexpress etc. It was nice and stif but I broke it at home because of too much torque on stem bolt. Now I bought another similar copy of Syncros Hixon handlebar, it is good too.
Yes, I have trunnion fox rear shock 165x45 mm and got 115 mm rear travel. I had to make custom bolts to install it into the frame. I like the frame and gonna rebuild bike with better components soon.
Here are some pictures below.

Your pictures didn't go through.

If you can, try to import them in imgur.com
Then hovering the image, click the 3 dots, then Get share links

Then post a BBCode link here, something like [ img width=800]https://i.imgur.com/xyz.png[/img]
(Removing the space before the first img)

@Sitar_Ned, any reason Dandy was banned ?

Sorry, if I banned you by mistake. For a while there, I was literally having to go through the forum a couple of times every day and delete spam and ban members(bots), and I probably was going too fast and not paying attention and you got caught up in it. My bad!

I won't clutter the thread by taking a screen shot but I do see them all.

Try right clicking on the icon and then opening in a new tab

I'm most interested in how you got a trunnion shock to work?  Don't trunnion shocks have 10mm hardware and the mounts on these are based around 8mm hardware? you say you made your own hardware?  i think this is one of the reason people have shied away from most of the open mold full sus frame that advertise the ability to use a trunnion shock.
