Well it’s not summer yet I use it as an additional layer under a thermal jersey, good for temperatures around 10 degrees. Good for getting rid of the sweat imho.

Do these actually move the sweat to the outer layer and therefore keep you dry? Or do they just get soaked with sweat making you even colder.... which is my experience with these cheap baselayers in cold weather.

Whats the point of these summer base layers other than making you feel warmer? Summer time I want to remove stuff from my body not add an extra layer.

I bought the long sleeve version of this and its by far my favorite summer fabric jersey.

How is sizing for YKYWBIKE jerseys compared to brands like Castelli or Santini?

I tend to sweat a lot and imho it does work. But feel free to disagree. Once the temps hit 20 plus, imma remove it straight away.

Thank you for your sacrifice.   I've been curious on these since they are so much cheaper than Bont; but I've been waiting for an SPD version to pop up since I almost never use SPD-SL.

The flex, do you think its a too thin layer of carbon for the sole?    Is it sort of flexible like a pair of aliex or low end western bran plastic soled road shoe, the kind of flex you notice on sprints and really far into rides? Or is it notably flexible all the time like a MTB flat (which is really stiff compared to regular shoes, but definitely not as stiff as a race oriented shoe).

For me and my body type 188cm 77kg
- Castelli Large bibs and uppers
- YKYW AsianLarge bibs and uppers............ but unlike Castelli this is a VERY much hit and miss every time. Even the SAME exact jersey or bibs can be somehow too large or too small.

I can twist and bend them quite easily with my hands. I don't know enough about carbon to say definitively whether it's too thin or a problem with the resin or layup or what. I don't think a carbon insole would make things any worse, but at least in my market I'm not sure what the point would be of buying these plus a carbon insole, either. They're not a hell of a lot cheaper for me than brand new Bont Riots and more expensive than some of the closeouts, and without checking I would guess that Shimano, Lake, etc all have offerings in the same price range.

Anybody with some good recommendation for bibshorts for really hot summer rides? Aero does not matter to me.
And should be with good seat pad as well (for good sweat wicking)

I think the best option is to buy some shorts in a bright color, maybe white or yellow. I recommend DAREVIE https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005006820907190.html, which you can also find in white. It'll be hot, but it's still better than wearing an all-black uniform.

PS: It's already very hot in Italy, and it's only April

Are there any summer jersey with higher quality / more "technical" fabrics similar to the likes of Attaquer, MAAP, etc?

I seriously feel like the Ali bibs (I really like Hiserwa) are quite close to some mid- to high range brands as long as they have EI chamois.
The jerseys I've tried (Spexcel, ykyw), while they fit OK, the quality of fabric is just so bad in summer jerseys. Stretchy, sweaty, drapes horribly and loose pockets. I will say some of the long sleeve and "winter" ones are way better but the summer ones are no where near IMO!

Can anyone prove me wrong please?!

You’re not wrong honestly. Bibs are way easier to get right (same OEM pads, simpler construction), but jerseys are where the real gap still is — mostly in the fabrics.

Most Ali summer jerseys use pretty basic polyester, so yeah: they feel stretchy, hold sweat and lose shape. That’s exactly why they don’t compare to MAAP/Attaquer.

Low quality fabric, super stretchy (in a bad way). Drapes horribly and pockets stretch.

Main torso fabric again too stretchy and saggy and it keeps sliding around. The arms are a bit short but the fabric on the arms is actually quite nice. But the overall fit makes it quite unusable.

The fabric on this is a bit better. Not as stretchy, the torso and arm fit is quite nice, but the pockets suffer from horrible sag and are way too big, to the point that I don’t trust it to carry anything valuable because I’m afraid it will bounce out!?

This one is actually a jersey I ride quite a lot. It fits fine, fabric is quite ok and it drapes well. Pockets are good and don’t sag. Arms are a bit short again (I’m also very tall) but overall quite nice. Just not short sleeve which I am looking for as temperatures are creeping up!

I also have one that seems to be discontinued (the link is dead), ”Spexcel all new explore pro thermal fleece” which is a really good spring/fall thicker jersey.

I would love to find a better short sleeve one. This one looks a bit more promising, but some of the review photos are hard to judge. Anyone tried this?
