Why is the AliExpress search absolutely useless? It never brings up the items I'm looking for instead showcasing which I believe are sponsored items. I find it easier to type whatever I'm looking for in Google while adding the word AliExpress to the search field.

True story. I wonder if there’s some kind of language barrier in the algorithm.

yeah, it's shit.
I actually find that on the phone app the search works well, always presents me with correct findings, the 'best match' and 'orders' categorization works well..
but on the browser the search never works, it's easier to just try to find the 1st product close to what I want, enter the product page, and search the related items - which for me Aliexpress does really well, I always find something interesting there - meaning it's not the most ordered items between the similar products, which for some cases it's just same product sold on different stores

Regarding the Aliexpress app.  I don't want to put a Chinese invasive app on my phone.   I am sure there are ties back to the Chinese government.  I am sure they are tracking you...

All these apps are invasive. I think you'd have more to worry about from the likes of Meta and Google. Though I don't run the AliEx app because it's such a bloated memory and resource hog. It took up 800mb on my phone! I was like WTF, why does an app need almost 1gb of storage space?

There is one difference.  Meta and Google are US based companies and not dictated to regarding how to do business.   Alibaba/Aliexpress is ultimately controlled by the Chinese governmen and it is known that the Chinese government has been knows to add in code into Chinese companies Apps.   (I don't have any Meta products/Apps on my phone either.)

If that kinda dorky 70s-but-modern style is your thing and the ~135 mm width works for you, you might also like the x62's sister models (x64 and x63) with identical temples but different front frames. Most of them can by found with both Kapvoe and SCVCN branding; looking to be the same thing. Some also come in funky frame colours (multicolour, gradients, sticker-bomb like prints) and transparent variants.

Now, if that doesn't look like fine (modern) vintage porn?!

(Seriously, I think the light grey/brown transparent frame looks super hot. The rarer "sticker-bomb" prints are fun, too (I just don't have the face to go with them ... or the personality, not sure).)

Bought three pairs of these on your recommendation. If you have a small head like me they are great! Well worth the $3.50.

IME it shows results based on your search/browsing history. Try to do the search while using incognito mode on the browser

Wet Noodle

small head

There is also that Rockbros model with "air intakes" at the front of the temples (1013_, last digit depending on colour/lens variant or something); that one is pretty small, too. Similar overall width as the previously mentioned Kapvoe/SCVCN, maybe it curves around just slightly further; short "no ears" / wrap-around style temples. Goes for 15 or so bucks.

If anyone is looking for an alternative groupset for gravel, Microshift Sword is available on AliEx:

its a pretty slick looking groupset.

its a pretty slick looking groupset.

The only potential issue/non-issue is that it's 10 speed only. That might be too few gears for some riders.

On the plus side, the 2x Microshift cassette is a unique 11-38t. The 1x Microshift 11-48t alloy/steel cassette is actually quite well-made, fairly lightweight and affordable.

Yeah, I don't get the 2x10 either.. That's ancient for most people...

It looks great though... Now make it 2x11 and hydraulic  :D

This 2x10 is really good with the cassette 11-38. If you look at the gear spacing they've done a good job. On the other hand 1x10 makes no sense to me because I hate the  3 teeth jump from 15 to 18. But most of the 1x11 aftermarket 11-46 cassettes also have this stupid spacing. I think 2 x 10 sword is a great groupset for bike backing and recreational riders. And with the 48/11 and 11-38 even I as a racer would choose this over grx 2x11. Becuse the top end speeds are the same but with microshift you get better climbing gears.

AzureEssence

Microshift is excellent, I'm running Advent X on my trail MTB.

I'm pretty new to the AliX game but I have a bunch of stuff coming that I can review. Toseek QR fork, ALITAONE seatpost, Deemount valve cores, Deckas chainring, Risk Ti bolts, and more
