A feedback re: the new Aero Goldix chainrings. I ordered these Goldix 50/34, Stone 50/34 and Passquest 46/33 simultaneously and were all delivered same day (last Sunday).
The Goldix rings are cheapest at $33~ but also the worst quality. I can flex it with little effort.

Stone and Passquest on the other hand are extremely stiff and wouldn't flex at all. They are also more than double the cost of Goldix. I expect Goldix to wear out much faster and shifting to be subpar. The only saving grace is they look great!

btw how good are magene chain rings compared to shimano (105). I have the 105s on now... If the Goldix are more or less bad and PQ and S are double the Shimano/Magene... What do you guys recommend?

Glad to know. I was super tempted to pick up those Goldix chainrings as a backup to my Shimano chainrings, but sounds like they're not up to par.

They definitely are not. Took out the 105 chainrings to replace with these. There is no flex in 105. Another thing that I noticed is the small chainring has teeth profile very similar to 1x narrow-wide chainrings. Wonder what will happen when I shift out of it.

I use Stone chainrings and they work as good as my dura Ace chsinrings. Can't get better then that imo

I got the Goldix aero chainrings in 54/40 and I'm pretty pleased with mine. Front shifting is fine on my Ultegra 12 speed Di2; needed to make a lot of adjustments vs the stock rings but very easy to do in the app. I haven't noticed flex particularly - I'm not a mega power sprinter but I have used them on a couple of hilly TTs which required me to front shift under load.
They are pretty heavy (especially with spider) so looking elsewhere for a 52/36 set up for use in mountains on my Leese carbon crankset, but they will do me fine for my flatlands set up.

hello, someone has suggestion for wheel stickers for mtb 29" wheels? Just to have more protection on a new carbon chinese wheelset.
Thanks

Couple of piece reports on a new build:

ZRace R700 brakes - $17
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005921991538.html
Weight: 379g

Nice budget alternative to 105 R7000 brakes and exactly the same weight. Similar style and function at about half the price. A side note on these, and this probably applies to R7000/8000/9100 brakes as well, but the reach is huge. These replaced mid-reach calipers on my Giant OCR and there was still a few mm of reach to spare - so if you have an old frame with mid-reach brakes, you might be able to get away with modern short reach.

Riro Racer R9 crankset - $39
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007637681206.html
Weight: 821g (50/34, 170mm)

Alternative to budget Shimano cranksets - design is similar to the Shimano non-series crankset (that's the FC-RS510 for 11 speed or FC-RS520 for 12 speed) with the solid, scooped out crank arms rather than the hollow arms of R7100 and above. Weight is slightly more than a 105 R7100 crankset (780g for 105, 821g for this). Finish is a lovely gloss black similar to Dura Ace R9100. Pairs nicely design-wise with an L-Twoo drivetrain. Shifting seems decent on the stand and up and down the street but haven't taken it out on a proper ride yet. Main downsides are that it's only available in 170mm, and the spider is integrated (i.e. no power meter options).
