Which brake pads are you guys using? I checked out past forum posts about the pink Cooma pads and apparently they get glazed over very fast. Gold are better? How are Kingstop black?

I have these pink ceramic pads on Shimano brakes and they're quite good. They don't screech unless it's raining heavily and quite durable, modulation is good as well. Comparing them with Organic Shimano pads they are more silent, way more durable (and waaaaaay more durable than Sram's organics) but offer less modulation. They are also way better than cheaper semi-metal pads (brand DELT, IIRC) in every regard.
I used red Kingstops (organic), they are no better than original Sram.

Thanks! I will give the pink ceramics a go, so far stock organic Shimano pads were good enough for me. My descents are probably not long enough for them to glaze over.

Just stumbled about this abomination - why would you something like that? I mean I would get it if they were independent calipers and you want to mock up a setup with an additional lever so you can pull the brake from both sides of the handlebar when doing tricks

But other than that...
Just imagine the insane stopping power you could get if you use 2x Hope Mono 6 instead of the shown MT200 calipers 😅 - ripped out Pm incoming

I've been ruining my initial TPU's (way too expensive Schwalbe...) with these patches.
Be careful NOT to use the sandpaper as mentioned in the manual.
That ParkTool doesn't point this out does not speak for this company.

Now I'm just using the repair kit from RideNow that has the glue and standart TPU pieces. The included alcohol wipes are also not too good and I switched over to tissue and alcohol which makes lasting patches possible.

Park tool doesn’t sell a TPU patch kit so I’m guessing you used a butyl kit, in which case it’s unsurprising you had a bad time. Butyl and TPU are very different materials chemically. TPU will not vulcanize like butyl and rubber patches do.

i have both saddles (Ryet copy and an S-Works Romin Evo w/ Mirror) the biggest difference (other than 400% gap in price!) between the two are:

• the Ryet saddle has a firm carbon base with very little deflection whereas the Romin has a fair bit of compliance in its carbon base.
  
  the mirror print on the Romin is a tad more supple but realistically speaking they are about the same in the sit bone area.
  
  the mid point of the saddle is a hair more narrow on the Romin.

the Romin is the better saddle of the two but it is only marginally better. i'm quite happy to ride either saddle on multi-hour rides. heck, i have the Ryet on my gravel bike!

keep in mind that i am specifically comparing the Ryet to the Romin, there are other saddles very similar to the Ryet that while looking about the same are substantially different. a friend put one from another brand on his Madone and his saddle is garbage.

Bought a red, good brightness, cheap build. My unit worked briefly then wouldn't stay on, basically doa.  Hopefully someone does more knock offs of the knog cobber as i like the design.

Feels cheap, most modes are not very bright. There is a flashing mode that has decentish brightness but still I don't really rate this light and wouldn't suggest it.

Another generic cob light. These are bright and i haven't had any issues with them. Only thing to note would be the battery life isn't very long but that is a cob thing i suspect.

I bought an older version of this in 2019 and have been using it ever since. Battery is only 2000mah and mine doesn't last as long as it did but it's been a solid light that is just bright enough to use as illumination, though it's borderline imo and doesn't keep up with lights that are actually designed as headlights such as what you'd see for mtb night riding. Supposed to be 1000 lumens. It is bright enough to illicit complaints from approaching riders and pedestrians so needs to be aimed downwards a few meters in front of you or you'll get yelled at. I run it during the day on commutes.

Just bought one of these. Have not tested it beyond unpacking and switching it on. It's about as bright as the previous head light i mentioned but the beam is bigger and wider with a cut off design that is supposed to not blind on coming traffic. Seems well made. I dislike how high it sits on it's mount and will probably sell it and try another shape/model.

*edit. My unit appears to have issues. Instead of adjusting brightness levels it just turns off and on when the button is pressed, also doesn't stay in the slow flash mode when set and i'm not sure if its charging or not. Also the power bank function doesn't seem to work. Lost the QC lottery. Seems like it's 50/50 with cheap lights.

These seemed good to begin with. Good size and brightness. They feel to be of reasonable quality and seem to have good battery life. They have a clip mount design that you can slide over like what you'd find on a pen, which meant i was able to mount it to a gap at the back of my helmet and made it the perfect addition to my commuter setup.

The white one of the pair i got only had one charge in it and now refuses to stay on. Bit disappointed as they otherwise seemed good.

^^ On the subject of lights, I'm running these and have been very happy with them.  They've survived rain and snow, commuting,  gravel rides and races and all the general abuse of being on the bike 24/7 for close to a year.

Small, bright.  3 modes; low, high, and flash.  My first one I ordered nearly a year ago for $14, the second ordered a couple months back was $20.  They run about 2+ hours on high and 4+ish? on low.  I liked the first one so much I grabbed a second one and I just toss it in a pocket during long night rides and swap them out on the fly while i'm rolling along.  The mount isn't an exact GoPro mount, it takes some fiddling, I spent a little time with a file making one of my mounts fit "just right".

It was $37 on a sale.  OK size and weight, really good battery life.  EXTREMELY bright on high and adds a nice aroura around you on the ground at night.  Like, its REALLY bright on daytime high, you'll get comments about it on group rides.  I just leave it on high daytime mode to use the lights obnoxiousness as an excuse to sit on the back of pace line during group rides that are going a bit fast for my fitness. If you don't want to pony up for radar, this is probably the next best thing.  It has an internal accelerometer so it senses braking and big bounces and lights up very bright and steady.

They also show as "can't be shipped to your address"-usa. FWIW, both track as in transit, so who knows why they disappeared? Maybe a complaint from Trek?
