Hi everyone,
I currently have an ER7 with an 11-28 cassette and 50-34 crankset.
Since I wanted to ride the Mont Blanc tour this summer, which is 330km and 8800m of elevation gain, I'd like to get a slightly wider cassette. Since I found a great deal on an original Shimano 105 11-34 cassette, I'd like to get it, but the stated limit is 32T. Has anyone tried the 11-34 cassette with an ER7? Does it work? Otherwise, I'll get an 11-32 cassette from China.

Thanks

Swap out the pulley cage for the LTwoo OSPW - or - keep the stock cage and swap to 11/11t Shimano jockey wheels. Either adjustment will do 11-34t.

Hi Jonathan thanks for reply, I forgot to specify that I use 12 speed.
Does the pulley change also work with a 12-speed?

You can buy 12 speed Shimano pulley wheels, but I'm using 11 speed Ultegra pulley wheels with a 12 speed chain and no issues.  :)

You can use the stock LTwoo pulley wheels if you want, but from my experience it will require a slightly longer which causes issues with shifting and possible chain drop.

Hi i found this video for shimano:
I personally have never done it and I would not be able to diagnose a faulty membrane from a healthy one.
But your problem is oil leak or blocked pump?

Interesting!
No oil leak. All i can say is no amount of bleeding would get the paddle to actually make the caliper pistons contract enough to make good contact with the disk. And we know it's not the hose, nor the caliper, and no leak, so we're left w the shifter itself.

It could be, but I'm not sure a membrane problem. I'm also trying to gather information on Italian forums that talk about this issue. Some say the membrane was damaged, while others said it simply wasn’t seated correctly, so when you press the lever air gets in immediately, making the bleed useless. Some people solved it by replacing the membrane, others just by putting it back in the correct position. Unfortunately, they’re not talking about Ltwoo but Shimano.

I’d like to give you more information, but I can’t find anything else online, and where I live there are very few mechanics and they don’t waste time investigating the cause. If you have a problem, they just replace the lever without even thinking about what’s behind it. They do this even with Shimano; if you mention Ltwoo, they don’t even know what it is. Unfortunately, I live in the smallest region of Italy, the Aosta Valley.

Have you tried swapping hydraulic hoses to rule out the shifter being the issue? If it brakes fine on the other shifter, then getting a replacement shifter might be the best option. Maybe one of the AliEx LTwoo vendors has V1 ER9/X old stock laying around.

@Serge_K I found the post from the user who had the same issue, his nickname is @Udeson and the post is this one: https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4242.msg97324.html#msg97324

Thanks. I'm fed up tbh. I replaced both shifters. I had enough broken shifter parts to make a new old shifter for my bike, and there s a new v2 shifter on its way for my friend, given the v3 does brake, but does not shift.
i do not understand how these things work. when i replaced mine, there were no bubbles, but i had to actuate the paddle 100 times after i closed the system before it would start braking. many times i made sure the air port was spitting oil out and not air. i did it so much that i probably need to push the pistons back now, because i get disc rub...
But until it stops working again, it's working, so, F that.
Makes me wonder how much more incompetent you can be w Shimano before running into issues.
When ltwoo works, it's great. the issue is it often doesnt.

Has anyone else had their ERX (newest version) front derailleur die from a firmware update? I was downloading/installing the firmware for the front derailleur and it cut out and subsequently killed my front derailleur. Nothing will revive the FD and I've tried absolutely everything under the sun to fix it. The app just shows "Front derailleur status is abnormal and cannot be used".

I'm at my wits end with trying to fix this.

You're right, unfortunately the big problem with ltwoo is that there's no support, or at least the support sucks. Also, looking at my ltwoo er7 firmware version with some friends, we can't understand a thing. They have firmware versions that have nothing to do with mine, completely different product numbers, both for the levers and the gears.... Uh, it's just unclear.
Another thing, if you watch the Trace Velo video, you'll see that it pairs V3 shifters with a V2 front derailleur, but it doesn't work for you. So there will probably be product differences there, even if they're the same type, and some allow the pairing and others don't. But without support, we can't know.

I had a bit of wildfurthcer discussions witht the AE shop. In the end I bought another cylinder for only the shipping cost. The cylinder (I only swaped that part, not the whole shifter) I got from this order had no problems with the membrane.

I also managed to get the first replacment to work, simply openend the cylinder, cleaned everything and adjust membrane back in place and screw lid back on, than die the standard bleeding procedure. I also had my probems to get all air out of the system. Bleed port on the caliper needs to be the lowest point while bleeding. And for myself I found it easier to work with two syringes instead of one and the oil container funnel for the top on the shifter. And don't forget to loose the smal screw - the one that moves the lever position - in the shifters lever (you will understand why if you had openend the cylinder to fix the membrane position). On my ERX it blocks the bleeding if the screw is not unscrewed a bit.

Changeing pulley wheels in my opinion is only needed when you change your running system to larger cassettes or sprockets to compensate the change of chain length. Performance/quality wise I see no reason to do it.

mashiro2004 wants to run a bigger cassette with a 50-34t chainring setup. Swapping from the stock 11/12t to 11/11t allows the bigger cassette without using a longer chain. Doing so can affect shift performance.

That's what I said :-) It only makes sense for this case. If you setup your bike build for the first time you do not need to change wheels as you can adapt chain length right from the start fitting your setup. I only want to avoid misunderstanding that someone thinks swaping of pulley wheels in general is performance boost :-)
