whats Ltwoos warranty like?
seems like they are busy.
trace velo has gotten every iteration and had issues with each of them.
I dont know anyone who can afford to trial groupsets each time.
once bitten twice shy imho

All my LTwoo groupsets are still working. My latest V3 ERX works the best though. Very solid.

I just receive my er7 from 318Bike, and here are some remarks

  • Shipping was a bit slow, other parts i ordered at the same time (arrived 2 weeks earlier) this was not an issue but just a remark
  • It came with all batteries, this was unnexpected, i had already purchase batteries so i guess i have spares now??
  • I paid 40euros for customs, 30 for taxes and 10 for processing fee, this was a bit anoyying but OK
  • It came with the installation model for the TT version.

It will replace a r9 so i am planning on leaving the brake lines and replace everythong else.

Yeah, here in the states, Halloween costumes are already for sale in the stores.  Great to see that you thought ahead and purchased your costumes so early.    ;D

Has anyone got experience with the chinese consumer version of the battery holder? I bought a replacement one as two of mine cracked and instead of the holder where you put your own batteries in I got a closed version with the cells sealed inside (already ordered another set of batteries myself beforehand of couse which I now have to return...).

I'm kinda iffy on it as I haven't heard too many great things about "uncertified" chinese batteries but I also don't want to return it.

Got my ER9 set-up and running great on my build from the Aliexpress "Official" store. The only disappointing part is that the air bleed screw on my right shifter is stripped already from the factory, which makes a good brake bleed pretty challenging.

Hey ownthesky, would you have any photos of your group set? I assume it is also the v3? Thanks.

I could take some photos, is there anything you'd like to see specifically? V3 :)

Awesome thanks, just general photos of the rear and front derailleurs really. I wanted to compare them against what my derailleurs look like as I'm certain I have the v3 because of the front USB-C charging, but the graphics themselves and the also the naming on the app don't line up to the Ltwoo website.

I think brake levers haven't really changed between the versions so I'm less concerned.

Fwiw, I think v1 and 2 are cross compatible, but V3 isn't backwards compatible. And V3 shifters are different, the buttons changed a bit, graphics too, rubber housing too.

I would advise ever buying v1 or V2, the charging is shit, the rear derailleurs are prone to sudden death, the braking is questionable (tends to stop working for no apparent reason), the clicky things go to shit over time, it's really poorly made. How durable V3 is, to be seen. I've put these things on 5-10 bikes, and I mostly regret it.

LTwoo describes being used at a pro level. Hopefully they start pushing their customer support even further. Their latest LTwoo eRX V3 is solid.

I've heard horror stories from "pro teams" (Eastern Europe, maybe middle east as well) losing races and losing riders (DNF) because of ltwoo groups shenanigans.
A lot of teams will sell their moms for 20 bucks. I know pros, national champions, who dont have funds to get proper medical supervision, let alone good kit, and they often buy their own bikes (discounted).
So while it sounds good on paper to sponsor teams, i wouldnt read too much into it.

So based on the fact that my front derailleur would be a v3 given the charging port, then the rest of groupset should be v3? I wonder why they make it so confusing with all the different graphic/font changes between the same version of the groupset.

100pc. You can't pair a V3 shifter to a V2 group, for example, I tried :)
Ltwoo doesn't want to sell to the west. If you're in China, getting replacement parts shipped to you costs 5 dollars. To Europe / west it's many multiples of that.
They launch untested prototypes and spend the next years fixing the bugs at the expense of customers. If warranty costs you 5 bucks, it's fine. For westerners, it's a lot less fine. Also technically, I guess it doesn't have any of the norms products in the EU need to comply with, but I don't care much about that myself.

I have the eR9 version 3 groupset (bought April 2025). I'm actually trying to get a replacement right plastic shifter outer housing to repair what was broken in a crash. It's taken forever with many back and forth messages to still not get finality on whether they can sell me a replacement. They're telling me this is no longer in production. Is that even possible??? They would stop production of a version they introduced the year before?
I do wonder if it came down to it if I could put the equivalent eRX piece on in its place, assuming that's still in production. I'm finding the secondhand parts market for LTWOO is tiny.

lol that would be very ltwoo of ltwoo to do just that. My friend runs a v1, we spent 200 eur to get him a new shifter, might have been the last one on AliX. Given the entire group was 400 odd eur, he was livid and considered stripping the whole group to put Shimano and be done with it.
in a nutshell, ltwoo simply doesnt care, and they explicitly say they dont care about the west. they're making increasingly good stuff, but if you can't get a group for cheap, it's likely to be a false economy to save a few coins vs shimano di2. Also, having ridden a lot of ltwoo er9 & erx, i rode a shimano di2 rim brake yesterday, the shifting quality is day and night. every click shifts on shimano. On my ltwoo bikes, sometimes it shifts great, but the reality is often, it doesnt. if you want to do a sprint, on shimano, you just shift gear and lay down the watts. On ltwoo, you're never as sure that shifting will shift properly when you want it to and so on. For most people, it doesnt matter. But the reality is that shimano, even old ones, are just more refined than even ltwoo v3. on ltwoo, maybe the battery is low, because the batteries are shit, maybe the shifter battery is low, maybe the buttons on the shifter are getting shitty, or maybe the group is having a bad day. for easy riding, it's no issue, but i'd never race on ltwoo.
almost all the problems i have on the bikes i built are because of ltwoo (shifting and brakes).
