Yes, as soon as I receive it. However, they sent it to me with the cage already mounted. I don't think with the normal cage. From what I've read, it should support up to 34, instead of 32. It's my first electronic groupset, my first Chinese groupset, I'm coming from an old Campagnolo Record 10-speed.

Something didn't sit well with me about Ltwoo selling aftermarket "premium" cages for every popular make/model of derailleur EXCEPT their own model of, supposedly, high-end derailleur.

Nice to see that they're maybe correcting this.

The more I look at the ER7, the more I'm thinking it might be a better alternative for those who want to run a wide ratio cassette in 2x. The ER9/X shadow plus style hanger is only compatible with the ER9/X, you can't utilize a Goatlink or direct mount hangers since the ER9/X hanger is designed slightly differently. The ER7 eliminates that hanger component, so it might be easier just to use an off-the-shelf extender on the ER7 RD (less linkages).

There's also the EGR + FD solution, but it seems EGR groupsets have jumped up in price making it a less likely candidate for a cheap wide ratio 2x conversion. I bought my EGR groupset last year for $300 USD, good luck finding it at that price now!

Not that I'm aware of. There's supposedly a small light on each brifter that will indicate a low battery, but I've never looked for it.

... and this conversation reminds me that it's been a full 1.5 years since I've installed a battery in my eGR right shifter. I've never sweated this, because my assumption is that as much as I use the right brifter, the left brifter MUST consume less power. Right? My backup plan has always been to pull out my phone and use the app to switch brifters. Absolute worst case, use the app to shift if/when necessary to get home.

Man! You got me thinking about the battery level of my first eR9 set that I installed two years ago now. It's been ridden over 10.000km at this point. It's not dead yet, but the strategy you have is exactly what I had in mind.

You can connect the LTwoo shifters to your bike computer. I have mine connected and should give a low battery indication when they need replacing.

Just a quick groupset report. I successfully paired a Goldix 12 speed 10-33t XDR cassette with my Ultegra 12 speed 52-36t chainring, KMC X12 12 speed chain (immersive waxed), with LTwoo ER9 using Ultegra 11/11t jockey wheels. I'm using this setup on my aero'ish frame with a focus on speed.

Initially I was thinking of switching to a 53-39t chainring with an 11-30t cassette, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of changing both the chainrings and cassette. Also I've actually been happy with my 1x gravel setup using XD cassettes, and only use the smallest cog for quick acceleration and/or descents. The main thing I like is having the 11t cog slightly inboard. I'll report back if there are any issues, but so far everything seems to work well.

It toggles and I press the tick but it doesn’t remain there. It’s stuck on Low?

Not sure what the problem is, but maybe try restoring factory defaults in the app. Make sure to write down your rear and front shift tuning numbers beforehand. If that doesn't work try a hard reset on the RD by holding the button down for a prolong period of time. Maybe about 30 seconds.

Quick reply to my post. I rode the Frankenstein Shimano/SRAM gearing combo today on a group ride and it did great. No issues on shifting after initial gear fine tuning the night before. Took the bike on fast flats and even climbed a 34% elevation hill attack and it held up fine. The 52:10t gearing works best on downhills and gaining a bit of extra speed on the flats. The nice thing is moving the high gears slightly in-board for a more optimized chain line. The only thing I'm not fond of is having an alloy cog for the lowest/granny gear. Not sure why they couldn't just make a full steel mono-block cassette. They already make HG steel road cassettes under 200g, so an XDR cassette can easily be made into all-steel for extra durability.

I just want to confirm something about gear protection using it the ER9/X. In 11 speed it will stop on the 2nd gear. In 12 speed it will stop on the 3rd gear. This can be an issue with climbing, For example if using an 11-32t cassette, the 2nd gear on 11 speed is 28t. The 3rd gear on 12 speed is 25t. That might force you to drop to the small chainring sooner depending on elevation. Not really a major issue especially since you can turn off gear protection, but I usually keep the setting on just to avoid accidentally cross chaining.

If using ER9/X I'd almost say it's better to build a 2x climbing bike with 11 speed especially with the newer ZTTO 11 speed all-steel cassettes like the 11-34t (182g) and the 11-36t (218g). Bikes focused on being fast work quite well with the Goldix XDR 12 speed cassette as I've recently discovered.
