LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets

The newer ultra lightweight ZTTO/Goldix all-steel HG cassettes are all the same, just go with whichever has the better price. I've had the best luck with KMC X12 chains with Chinese road cassettes. You can use both HG and XDR cassettes with decent shifting. If using a Shimano cassette, you can stick with a Shimano chain.

Swap the LTwoo wheels to Shimano 11/11t jockey wheels and start experimenting. The Shimano upper 11t is narrow/wide which helps prevent the chain from getting jammed. The lower 11t (Ltwoo uses a 12t) will allow you to bring the cage closer to the small cog to minimize chain drop. I use a chain catcher on the FD with both my ER9 road bikes.

I think 11-36t will clear, but you'll have to mess with chain length and dialing in the right 2x chainring size for your riding. I suggest anything exceeding 11-32t, you should turn on the gear protection feature. At these out-of-spec ranges, the cross chained gears won't have ideal performance. I just dial in the chain length long enough so it doesn't snap my rear derailleur if I accidentally shift into big/big.

I have two ER9 bikes using 50-34/11-34t and the other on 52-36/11-33t. I've entertained the idea of a building a 48-32t/11-36t setup with ER9, but at that point I'd rather just have a 1x setup.

Have you ran it with Shimano cranks and chainrings and cassettes?  Does that make much difference from using other brands from what you can tell in the shifting performance?

At one point I was using an Ultegra chain, cassette, chainrings and jockey wheels. My goal was to get it as close as possible to when I was running Ultegra 11 speed mechanical. I wouldn't even mess with aftermarket chainrings. Even 105 chainrings shift great. I'm currently using Dura-Ace and Ultegra 12 speed chainrings and my rear/front shifting is excellent.

Now that I'm using ZTTO/Goldix cassettes, it's better to switch to something like a KMC X12 chain. It shift better up and down the cassette range on these ULT Chinese cassettes.

Very much appreciate the information.  I was thinking like you if you are going to use Shimano best  to use all Shimano on those parts with the Ltwoo to get the best shifting results.

Hi guys,
Yesterday I ordered the eRX v3.
I will upgrade from a Tiagra group, so I will need a new cassette.
Usually the eRX only supports 32t, but in the last few pages I already read that some of you tried more teeths and it still works.
Which cassette with higher than 32t have you tried and is still working?
Any recommendations from ZTTO or Goldix?
Do you also have a chain to recommend?

I’m using an 11-36 hg cassette with absolutely no issues (although I don’t shift into big big or small small ever) with a 50/34 and another with a 46/30 upfront and zero shifting issues.

Don't forget LTwoo's new ER9/X/7 cage. 34t in-spec max cassette cog. Might be fun to experiment to see if it'll push beyond 36t.

Have they add autotrimin in fd or nothing yet?

Not sure what the problem is, but maybe try restoring factory defaults in the app. Make sure to write down your rear and front shift tuning numbers beforehand. If that doesn't work try a hard reset on the RD by holding the button down for a prolong period of time. Maybe about 30 seconds.

Was advised by supplier to hold rear derailleur button under green light comes in then re pair.

Which I have done and didn’t resolve issue.

I also did what you suggested and hard reset rear mech which also didn’t work.

I notice the green light blinks when I adjust anything on the app. It also blinks when I adjust the speed setting but it doesn’t adjust on the app.

I suspect it’s a glitch in the app.

My ER9 RD died in a similar fashion. Try it with the battery plug attached. I probably did the hard RD reset like 5-10 times until it woke up. After that I changed to a different set of batteries and haven't had issues since.

It’s in latest version. The groupset is brand new. Everything works except for the speed setting.

The main issue is that after riding in rough terrain like bad quality pavement or after going into a pothole both the rear derailleur and front derailleur stop working. No matter how many times the shifters are pressed they simply don’t work. And after trying many times we found that connecting the charger suddenly makes the groupset work again. I haven’t been able to understand why it solves it, but it does on most occasions.


Other issues include having the groupsets work in a training ride but then after a couple of hours it would be dead, not asleep, but dead, only to come back to life after a lot of fidgeting but with no clear cause.


And as you know LTWOO support is not any help until now….

Hello, I've had that too this last month twice . I had to disconnect and reconnect front and rear derailleur from de battery. No idea if there is a protection mode with rough terrain

I wonder if your 14500 battery is too short. You’d think they’d all be the same size, but some of them are slightly shorter than others not letting the battery holder make sufficient contact with them. Had isssues with my EGR, until I replaced it with a slightly longer battery. No issues since then.

Make sure your 14500 battery has a long tab, if not add a nickel or a dime for better contact.
